We Don't Need Models Anymore (Realistic Human Animation Video)

OMG! Check this video out. It's insane. I'm still in shock that this is animation. In 10 years time (or however long it takes to get this in a desktop program) pornstars will be getting a happy meal for a scene, and be damn happy to get it.

I call bullshit. Emily is about as fake as that Bigfoot was real.

mynameisjim 08-20-2008 12:31 AM

That is pretty good. The only thing that gives it away is the top lip, it seems a bit stiff.

But is that just a motion capture or a totally unique animation built from scratch? The article doesn't really say. I think it's more motion capture than animation. But still very cool.

mynameisjim 08-20-2008 12:52 AM

Got curious and found this longer video. You can watch in high quality as well.

I guess just the face is animated as they revert to the original actress at the end. Still pretty impressive though.

Can't wait for "Cyber Jordan", she will be such a little slut!

yep, can get rid of the scuzzy tattooed chics.

I'm sure some porno people are trying to get ahold of this as we speak.

MakingItPay 08-20-2008 06:20 AM

It doesn't even have to look that real to convert! :thumbsup

See: ThrillBuck$

Challenge is that it is WAY cheaper to hire real porn models than to make realistic animations of porn models. But that is pretty amazing! :)

tranza 08-20-2008 06:42 AM

That's awesome...she really looks real!

Today , that is true , but not for long. The point she made on the video is about how Motion capture has evolved. In Physical motion capture the set up used to be a Motion capture suit with anywhere from 6-8 points of reference, then a series of anywhere from 5 to 25 cameras positioned around it to capture data, then a massive series of proprietary servers to crunch the Data.

As recently as last year I saw people at the Gaming show doing it with NO suit and 4 cameras and it was just as good. Fzcial Mapping has been much more challenging because instead of getting very good info from 50 sensors you now need hundreds to replicate detailed facial expression which varies widely face to face. (Notice Emily has very little wrinkles.) but with this technology it is using the video as a way to replicate not the true 3D rendering of the emotions but the 2d screen representation of it so there is less data and it can be made far more accurate for the illusion of motion on the screen.

In less than 5 years this will be a system you can carry in a suitcase and will give you the ability to capture full face and body of any person , or any moving entity for that matter and then put whatever wrapper you want on it simply from a video you have on file. Cue the Lawyers ;-)

That will be great! I just wish the price of animations had gone down in the last 3 years. :winkwink:

I was going to say the mouth in general. But yeah I agree about the top lip.

tony286 08-20-2008 07:57 AM

that is pretty amazing.

Quagmire 08-20-2008 08:20 AM

but... but... If we don't need models anymore, who is going to suck dick and get naked at trade shows?

Jack Sparrow 08-20-2008 08:31 AM

I so like steves signature pic, gonna make a thread about that right now.

Loki 08-20-2008 08:48 AM

Looks good BUT, am I just way overworked and overstressed and being super critical here..... did it NOT say "FACIAL ANIMATION" IE just her head and face were animated?

If so big woop lol, now IF that was an entire body CGI animation I'm impressed.

And screw the prices of animation over the last 3 years, but for the love of god, can there be a QUICKER way to render it out lmao

Pete-KT 08-20-2008 08:51 AM

thats very cool

tiger 08-20-2008 09:07 AM

Not really that amazing when you think about all of the special effects they have been able to do for years.

Anthony 08-20-2008 09:11 AM

They made a movie about this in the last 70's early 80's. Model were getting killed and shit, can't remember the movie name now.

dready 08-20-2008 09:15 AM

That's pretty impressive.

BINGO!

I looked it up under Albert Finney.

This sort of technology is going to put dead actors back in movies and make old actors young again.

clickyoucutie 08-20-2008 12:32 PM

Not bad actually, fairly realistic but still not 100% believable

klaze 08-20-2008 12:36 PM

I hope she doesn't fuck like she talks..

They still haven't figured out how to make the movements smooth...
