College presidents ask for drinking age lowered to 18!

College is supposed to be a place of higher learning so you would expect the people who run them to be more intelligent. Alchohol is the most dangerous drug in our nation which has killed millions of Americans. So if we are to follow their beliefs pot should SO be legalized. Funny how hypocritcal and unintelligent the people of our country can be.

Funny how hypocritcal and unintelligent stoners are. Always pointing out other drugs and people using them so they wont feel bad that theyre just another addicted drug abuser themselves.

G-Rotica 08-19-2008 07:21 AM

Well, I can tell you that I've never seen an arrest of some stoned dude beating his wife. Can you say the same about drunks?

tical 08-19-2008 08:00 AM

if you can vote you should be able to drink

What does one have to do with the other?

tranza 08-19-2008 08:07 AM

There are some countries were the legal drinking age is 14. And many of them are far more advanced than the US.

:2 cents:

It speaks to responsibility. If we trust an 18 year old with the responsibility to make a choice about who leads this country and all that goes with it, it's ridiculous to deny them the choice to have a drink because we don't feel they're responsible enough to handle it.

Good idea. Turn their brains to mush so they can make intelligent decisions when voting.

It's called "being realistic" about life versus living a "pie in the sky lie" about life.

Young people are getting drunk and our stupid rules are not stopping them.

Real life :

under 21 means get 20 dollars, give to bum to bring back six pack and say "keep the change".

That plan will never be defeated.

More real life :

If you catch your 17 year old drinking you can bring the hammer down.
And it's your house and they can't legally leave. You can have the cops bring them
back home and inforce your rules.

If you catch your 18 year old drinking then you can't do any of the above because they
are a legal adult. So the law has removed your parental power at age 18 yet the law
expects you to still have control over the adult drinking in your home.

You either call the cops on your 18 yr old to have them charged with drinking in your
home or risk getting charged yourself with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
So your 18 yr old is a legal adult, but if they drink and you go to court over it
then the magic wand is waved and they are now a minor when it comes to filing charges against you. That my friend is also hypocrisy!

...

So with all the complications above, not a single idiot stopped drinking.
Some view this situation as nothing but a charade and wonder why we
are wasting tax money to fake like we are successful at enforcing it.

No kidding, that's exactly how it works :thumbsup
If they want to drink, they'll find a way...

The rest of us need a drink after seeing what you voted for. :1orglaugh

Voodoo 08-19-2008 08:54 AM

I think they should lower the drinking age to 18, but raise the driving age to 21.

bbm 08-19-2008 10:40 AM

He is a drunk fool

MikeSmoke 08-19-2008 11:22 AM

1972, USA.
I was 18 and in college.
I could vote for the first time.
I could drink legally.
I also worked three jobs.
I started to move ahead in my chosen profession (no, not THIS one lol) and eventually approached the peak of my profession - as did the majority of people I knew, who also could legally drink at 18.

Among the people who were either in my college circle or my work circle --- were two people who became two of the most respected and well-known political writers/commentators in America (one liberal, one conservative) and two who became among the most well-known/prolific TV writer/producers in America --- not to mention people who became some of the most successful doctors, lawyers, academics, journalists and business people in the country.

Some smoked pot, some didn't.

But I really don't think that the fact that they could drink at 18 really made much of a difference.

Any of you who are old enough to remember what the majority of "kids" were like in the 60s and 70s - and know what the majority of "kids" are like now --- will understand.

Any of you who are potheads in your teens and 20s --- probably never will.

sumphatpimp 08-19-2008 11:45 AM

as long as mom and dad keep paying the tuition, no one cares what the dumb fuck president of the school thinks.
what the hell is his name anyway?
Professor CrouchRote or something like that?

Kudles 08-19-2008 11:46 AM

This is stupid

TheDoc 08-19-2008 11:52 AM

The legal drinking age is already 18. Each State has a law that raises it for that state to 21 so the State can get federal funding for roads and bridges.

As i explained many times before im not against it. Not at all. I dont give a shit who smokes weed and who doesnt. Im just tired of idiots like thread starter who think weed is a fucking miracle plant that cures the world.

scottybuzz 08-19-2008 12:04 PM

the answer is not to change the age to 18, but to change it to whenever the parents feel their child is ready(be that only 8 years old) and promote responsible drinking.

<<E A T R O A D K I L L>> 08-19-2008 12:06 PM

And its retarded they send kids to war at 18 and let them drive at 16. If anything needs to be changed its that.

Let me break this down for you:

At the ripe age of 18:

Shooting people in the face and getting shot to death for your country: Legal
Getting assfucked by 2 black cocks while chocking on another one, live on camera: Legal
Choosing the future of your country by voting: Legal
Gambling (scratch off tickets, etc): Legal

Getting a beer in a bar: Illegal

Do you see a problem here?

Germany: can drink beer & wine at 16, cannot drive until 18.

Compare this to the states where teenagers drive to house parties, drink and then drive back so that their parents wouldn't know that they have been drinking.

BradM 08-19-2008 01:13 PM

I think the legal drinking age in Quebec needs to get raised to AT LEAST 9 1/2.
