How do you feel about adult domains with a dash in between words?
 

Ok i have a great idea for a new adult blog but the domain i want is owned by a mainstream webmaster. The domain is for sale but i think once he sees i sell porn dollar signs will pop up.
My idea is to just add - in between each word for example instead of postnewthread.com it would be post-new-thread.com...Im sure that would piss him off...just for opinions...I mean should he have protected himself b buying all the domains close to his if he is selling his? And i see some webmasters use those type of domain names, do they work with surfers or are they inclined to remove the dash?

i don't like hyphenated domains, I think if you tell someone e.g. the guy at the next desk in your office by word of mouth the name of a site, they will try and search it without hyphens so that means they will probably miss your site. Most people assume the name of a site is spelt as one word.

SE's do not care about a hyphen. Surfers might get a little lost trying to find the hyphenated site though.

I don't like domains with a hyphen, but have used one in the past when the preferred domain was taken.

That was a small site though, expecting traffic from a specific user group. If you want to pick up randoms from search engines or word of mouth you might not do so well.
