In an emergency, which would you choose to save--your wallet, phone or computer?
I'm still thinking about this one. leaning towards computer.
First pet then computer.
The computer.
Computer definately!
Wallet first, so I wouldn't have to wait for the cards I need to convert the checks I get to cash.
:D |
The dog!
Everything but the dog can be replaced. Used to suck loosing a phone as that is where all the phone numbers are and I know none of them without using the phone but since the iPhone is synced with the Mac that is no longer a worry. |

so let's presume nothing else is in the mix but the wallet, computer and phone. which of the 3 would you choose? |
What kind of emergency? House burning down?
I'm leaning towards the wallet, I have remote backups of most important computer files |

Computer here. |
wallet , then phone and comp
Of those 3 I would take a computer. I've got one machine I use for network storage and CVS. I think it would come with me. I could live without my phone and wallet.

Computer without a doubt.

Wallet, then computer then phone
Seems like saving the phone would be the way to go, at least you can then call for help...
laptop - there's nothing on my phone which isnt also on my laptop. and wallet - it seems easier to get a new passport and credit card than 5 years of email and icq history
It's be computer for me. I can get credit cards reissued and money is money. I have backups of my phonebook on the Verizon network, so the computer saving is a no-brainer! :)
Assuming my girlfriend, brother and dog were safe I'd have to go with my computer I think. I lost my Hard Drive in May and it was one of the worst things to happen to me. I lost 5 years worth of stuff. Ok most of it wasn't hugely important and is backed up on my server but I wouldn't want to go through that again. Fone can be replaced easily with all my numbers as well. Wallet isn't hugely important as I know my bank account numbers in my head so it wouldn't be a problem getting money as and when needed.
The whole house could burn down but as long as I have my computer, I'm in business.....But a CLOSE second is my wallet.
computer, no doubt about it.
computer for sure !!!
my laptop
wonder if other industries would save their computer first too.
computer, my computer has a backup of my phone so ill get 2 birds with one stone.
Pets
Computer Rolodex (yes, I still have one of those things - all my user/passes are in there) phone In that order My wallet is usually in my car ;) |
Phone first. Wallet and computer tie for second.
Computer, no brainer.
If I left my computer behind then how I will fill my wallet ? First goes my computer :)

Wallet.
The phone can be replaced (it synchronizes with my computers). And my Puters are backed up remotely in multiple locations online and in my office. I can work from anywhere in the world. |
Wallet as it has all my cards in.
Computer, as it's the tool of my trade. I can see myself running out of my burning house wearing nothing but boxers and the laptop clutched like a football.
Am I the only one who could swap my computer for a fresh new one tomorrow and not skip a beat business wise? All of my shit is stored online and backed up... I'd rather take the wallet and not have to deal with reissuing ID and cards, with the cc I save I can have a new laptop tomorrow reinstalled with linux and all the apps I use and synched up with my server and be back in business.
I have everything setup for just such an occasion.
Computer You push a button and the side of the case opens. You push another button and the harddrive slides out - in a box with a handle. Wallet/Phone Is on top of the computer, cellphone is on top of my wallet. Important Papers All important papers are in a fire-safe filing cabinet next to the computer. Tax folder for this year is setting next to the filing cabinet. Bring it. |
I have lived in a high rise in a earth quake zone before and must say that a flash light would be the best thing to have on you in case of an emergency!
Wallet. ID and Credit/ATM Cards can be a bitch to replace.
Computer is backed up and I use mobile sync through sprint for my phones. |
You don't have time to disconnect everything.my wallet and cat
I'm learning towards the wallet, since the cards are hard to replace (and I'd probably forget the exact contents until I actually NEEDED one of the cards)
All of my data is either expendable (can be retrieved/generated again, with a bit of work) or backed up in more than one location. That's not to say that if my shelf of computers went up in flames that I'd be jumping around the next day like nothing happened, of course... the impact of the "temporary" loss could end up being quite significant... |
not even a contest
my wife ,the pets, those three are always close to each other. I can scoop them all up.
computer for sure
Cats. Then computer.
id say wallet
as my laptop does auto offsite backup now my phone is synched with laptop every time i charge it so that is backed up off site aswell |
Computer for sure!!
computer without a doubt.
I'd save the lube ...
The wallet.
my wallet and my hard drive. The hard drive I can get out of the computer in 1 second. That way I have all of my important stuff. I have no pets and I live alone so I don't have to worry about that.
