WTF! Why would anyone allow this to happen to themselves?

Peaches 08-16-2008 03:13 PM

If he's chosen not to take advantage of the many shelters in town, it's clear he's also chosen not to take advantage of the free medical care he could get. A hospital would have to legally admit and treat him and since he's homeless, his medical care would be free. And he doesn't pay any taxes for that. I guess the US is a "free heath care country" too.

Doh, I couldn't watch the whole thing and though it was the US. Going by the last 5 years of posts here, I thought the US had the worst healthcare ever, lol.

Just the worst of the developed world, and the most expensive in the entire world several times over.

It would depend what country he lives in...

In the US a hospital doesn't have to legally admit anyone...

:D

That guy most likely had his legs like that for a long time, so if you are talking corporate finance then it is easy to argue it is not an emergency.
Wasnt it in a Moore movie there was some highlight about some emergency where someone that WAS insured got refused treatment at a hospital because she was insured at another hospital, and then died on the way?

Do you go to the hospital emergency room for general health care? If he had his legs like that for a "long time" and went to an ER in the US then he would have to be AT THE MINIMUM diagnosed and 1. administered aid 2. moved to a place that could administer aid. There are big assed signs all over every hospital I've ever been to that tell you they HAVE to treat you or send you somewhere that can.

We mean ol' Americans.........:winkwink:

Spunky 08-16-2008 06:35 PM
