Huh - looked to me like Cavic was the one who shut it down early and got beat my a whisker. Funny to watch an American coach protest and American victory on behalf of a Serb, though.

Unfortunately for some... that protest was dismissed like a used whore.

After all the replays they showed on TV it's still inconclusive.. So why wouldn't they be investingating?

They did investigate -why do you want ANOTHER investigation?

NBC did DID show lots of replays of that finish from numerous angles at various speeds, including frame by frame - Phelps is clearly the winner.

If you have cable with a digital converter box, it's likely that race, along with numerous others, is available in the video on demand section.

I watched it on cbc, so maybe nbc showed more I guess

so for those of you that got to see the replay in slo mo a few times, how close was it??

man blast in your face 08-15-2008 10:11 PM

I say INVESTIGATE AGAIN!!!!!!!!

It could be that somebody sabotaged the wires on the "touch plates" to ensure that no matter how far behind Phelps was, he would win by 1/100th of a second.

Either that or Phelps just flat out won the race.

here is a good video of it

Cavic made a mistake in slowing up a touch early or he would have won, the last stroke made the difference and the 1/100th of a second (or less) loss

missed by that much.............................................. ....................
