SEO guys - keyword + domain

Hi guys,

Ok, I'm not asking "do keywords have revelancy in domain name". :1orglaugh

Now let's think on mainstream websites, let's say that I have #1 google place for 2 or 3 good search terms, all achieved by text content inside my website.

Now, imagine that on this business everyone have damain names related with company names with very poor keyword inside those domain names, my own domain name don't have anything to do with business related keywords.

So, I was jerking around searching domain names for porn stuff and I remembered to check it out for domain names with search terms for my mainstream business, and guess what? All major search terms are available for domain names.

Should I buy them ? and then build some secundary/independent websites just like doorways or something ?

If my business where demolitions, one of most searched terms should be "building implosions" , so buildingimplosions.com + nice text content should be a good way to hit #1 google places, right ?

Cheers

If the words building implosions is already searched for, other people are fighting for it with related keyword domains and other powerful indexes already, introducing a new domain into the mix will mean very little.

Now if you broke off into sub niches of domains, building implosion tools, lets say. Then that domain may have a chance to list well, simply because it's more related that the other listed sites, since they also talk about the tools.

Then, it still all boils down to what google thinks your page is about based on text and inbound links. So if someone is doing it better than you, the domain name is irrelevant.

nice :thumbsup

Now, let's talk about dashes and 3 word domain names.

Taking as an hypothetical example the term "ray of light", some terms for my business must have this kind of 3 word term.

Wich are the best options ?

ray-of-light.com ---> for google eyes

rayoflight.com ----> for people remind better

Just tell me if I am right, or just add some good ideas :thumbsup

Cheers

regardless of the domain name, it is always going to depend on the competition for the phrase, content, backlinks etc etc etc etc. the domain name itself isn't going to give you an inherent advantage for any phrase with any amount of searches and any amount of competition.
