Yeah........ I know how that goes. It seems that women are always going to find it really hard to quit smoking, I reckon more so than men.

Then again most people are weak and thats why they find it hard to quit. I quit in 2000 and never looked back. Well i do look back sometimes but only to see who is behind me.

shekinah 08-13-2008 05:35 PM

Tried em, those things taste like shit, I had to light a smoke just to take the taste away

Zorgman 08-13-2008 07:42 PM

selena, thats awesome.

I took when cold turkey back in july 1999. It took a few weeks getting use to not smoking but it was mostly will power.

I smoked 1 pack (40 smokes @ 4mg) a day ($6.50 AUD) at the time, i think a pack is about $11.90 now.

Either way, I feel better and food tastes so MUCH better then while I was smoking.

broke 08-13-2008 07:46 PM

It's only been three years for me (after 16), but I'm just as happy.

Congrats.

:)

Juicy D. Links 08-13-2008 07:50 PM

i just lit up a smoke

uno 08-13-2008 07:56 PM

I plan on quitting soon. uggghh... I actually do enjoy smoking, but my coughing is getting out of hand.

clickyoucutie 08-13-2008 08:04 PM

I quit a few years ago cold turkey and it was hard but I stopped. I had a very nasty smoking habit too, I was smoking a pack and a half to two packs a day and I was very young and already coughing sometimes when I laughed hard! That was a wake up call big time and it was affecting my health a lot, so I quit. My breathing was ten times better after I quit smoking, especially about 6 months later it was like my lungs were clear again. The only downside to quitting smoking for me was some weight gain during the 6-10 months after. OF course once I noticed I had gotten about 10-15 lbs heavier in all the wrong places I was actually breathing good enough to jog my expanding arse on the treadmill and I got rid of the weight pretty fast. So the only downside to quitting smoking (weight gain) is easily fixable, just use those clear lungs to work out more!

That's really good. And I know it's really hard too. My father had to stop smoking because of a heart attack and I could see how difficult it was for him. Big congrats!!
