Fraudulent Webmaster? Program owners beware

We had this new affiliate that suddenly started to send lots of signups, and his site looks very strange.

The referrer is: http://xxxontheway.com/webroot/signup.php

His ratio was like 1:20, so it looks to me as either spam of fraud.

We have a revshare program and all the signups he send were full month signups, which is of course very suspicious.

Also, the screenshots he uses to send traffic are screenshots of the webmaster programs not the paysites. Very strange?

The site header says "getfree48h.com", I googled this up and one of the results listed the site as a PayPal scammer.

He takes donations by Egold, and usually Egold=Scam

When you login to his site, you get tons of Full DVDs (uploaded on Rapidshare)

All in all, it looks very suspicious. Or am I missing something?

He uses many different programs such as Spartan Dollars, Brain Cash, Flash Cash, etc. You can see the full list of all the programs on the URL I posted.

ask your processor to do a fraud check

He also gives away free Rapidshare accounts on his site. Probably generated with stolen cards?

They are checking into it.

Other programs listed on that site should do the same.

2 more reasons that makes it even more suspicious:

- His whois info shows a Vietnamese name and address
- Logged in to the affiliate account from lot's of different internet providers (probably proxies, or bot computers)

I just want to warn the other programs. Looking at the amount of joins he send in just a few hours it doesn't look like small scam.

Of course I didn't provide any creditcard or personal info.
To access his 'members area' you just need an email addres. I just used a disposable mailinator.com email address.

Thanks for the heads up Konda.

Konda - I find about 2-3 of these a month. I remember another sponsor mentioning it a few months ago. It's the same crew, it seems or at least, the ringleader is the same.

aside from giving away a hundred or so movies. which isnt necessarily illegal. i dont see anything too fraudulent about it. course i only signed up with a free email account, didnt buy VIP access.

Chance are hes a chat spam guy. They get people to sign up and cancel to get access to other sites. Check your cancel rates on his members. If the cancels are much higher then normal thats what he is. Theres tons of these idiots doing this right now.

Well, since he was sending a couple of signups each hour, converting < 1:20 it either means he is a spammer or a scammer.
Since the only link he has to our site is a screenshot of our webmaster program and still converts < 1:20 it just doesn't look legit. Also since all signups he sends are full month signups (on average about 50% is full and 50% trial), so something is defenatly not right.

In addition he gives away 100+ full DVDs (copyrighted) for free (hosted on Rapidshare), so that alone makes us not want to work with him
