SilentKnight 08-12-2008 08:16 PM

The Lance Armstrong of aquatics.

mikeyddddd 08-12-2008 08:30 PM

Make it 11.

CDSmith 08-12-2008 08:43 PM

That relay they swam tonight was incredible, the US guys were like 3 body lengths in front of the rest of the heap. I don't remember ever seeing that race so lopsided in all the times I've watched it.

Adam_M 08-12-2008 09:54 PM

He is making our Aussie swimmers look really bad...

Nookster 08-12-2008 09:56 PM

He's not done. Swimming again in a few more mins. :thumbsup

Nookster 08-12-2008 10:23 PM

Add on 1 more gold...even broke another record. :)

Nookster 08-12-2008 11:29 PM

And another gold and world record. Guy's a machine!

WWC 08-12-2008 11:34 PM

He is like a fish!

Marcus Aurelius 08-12-2008 11:34 PM

They need to check him for Gills.

DefaultMan 08-12-2008 11:54 PM

Way to represent Maryland!

TiaLing 08-13-2008 12:22 AM

This is just awesome! Tia

marko13 08-13-2008 12:28 AM

he is so good... noone can make him loose..

bhutocracy 08-13-2008 12:44 AM

Let's not go too far.. Thorpe made him his bitch quite a lot before he retired, but he's certainly developed into a phenomenon in the intervening years. Chopping them up at the moment.

Manowar 08-13-2008 04:09 AM

I really think he will do it with the 8 golds

Drake 08-13-2008 04:16 AM

Amazing..

Sarah_Jayne 08-13-2008 04:29 AM

A great accomplishment. I still rank Steve Redgrave as my top Olympian though.

Ravage 08-13-2008 05:39 AM

He's definitely tearing things up this summer, but it makes me wonder if he be dominating as much if the LRZ racer swimsuit wasn't available.

I feel this new suit takes away from the true spirit of the games, and that being person vs. person on equal grounds. Now, it seems gear is making all difference and its no longer just the athlete's ability anymore.

seeandsee 08-13-2008 05:41 AM

Today pharmaceutics are really great :)
just kiding, he is ONE GREAT swimmer!

WebairGerard 08-13-2008 06:42 AM

tranza 08-13-2008 06:43 AM

Only in the Limey universe.

:winkwink:

They showed Phelp's daily routine the other day, basically what he's been doing for the past 4+ years straight. The guy is a machine is right. Eat - swim - sleep. Period.

Did anyone see what his diet consists of? I've seen 350 lb linemen in the CFL that don't eat as much as Phelps. The guy is single-handedly keeping all the restaurants in his area in business.

The amount of time he spends in the pool is now paying off big time for him. I doubt most people could dedicate themselves to that degree for that long a time.

And anywhere else where gold in five consecutive Olympics is respected.

Kudles 08-13-2008 10:22 AM

Phelps is the coolest guy in the world!!!

Blazed 08-13-2008 11:21 AM

He done good for a swimmer but no way hes the best olympian athletes likes being made out, the fact you can swim in a different swimming event every day shows the huge difference physically between swimming and something like running/rowing swimming is so much easier on the body.
