Do you Prefer our New School or Old School Hosted Galleries Better?
OK so our Software Engineer got a bright idea this week and designed a Hosted Gallery that is connected to our content management system. This means every time you refresh a page in our Dynamically Gallery the images randomly change. This way surfers never see the same images twice. If enough people like this we will make it a permanent webmaster tool complete with changing videos.
Let me know if you like the Old School Way or the New School Way Better!:thumbsup Dynamic Gallery::thumbsup New School Static Galleries::thumbsup Old School 1 Old School 2 Old School 3 Old School 4 Old School 5 Old School 6 |
The Dynamic for sure, not a bad idea at all :)
I like the idea of putting up a Gallery once and forgetting about it. We can change it thousands of times a month and track then post what ones convert the best.
You should offer both. Those who don't want to update their links and those who want to give an accurate account for which the link will display once clicked.
They both look good man!
That's some pretty hardcore content you've got there, but the dynamic galleries are cool.
Thanks Kev the idea behind the Dynamic Gallery is to have Webmasters post once and forget about it. I think that should appeal to a lot of people.
I prefer the classic but would like links added to each page/video linking to the other pages/videos so that I can get from one classic page/video to another. I like being able to link and reload a specific video and not have to keep clicking on refresh until I get the video that I liked.
... are those galleys or FPA? .......
personally, I like the webmaster having both options :)
I think that we are going to have to offer both to appease everyone but the fact that we can track what tours are getting the most click throughs with 1 URL is great.
Offering both is a good idea.
If I was a consumer though, I probably would want the static. That way if there's a girl I really like I can always easily go back and find her.. |
Yep good point Laurel we are tracking every click so this should get interesting real soon
If by FPA you mean Free Perl Album's then the answer is no. These are Dynamically generated galleries.
doesn't this qualify as a random gallery link?
nothing new really, been doing it for years |

test with live traffic then decide, that's what I would do.
Both look very good
Thank we try
We this is just a test when we get the feedback we need we will be dynamically changing the movies and pictures with every refresh along with the entire look and feel of the gallery then tracking to see which one coverts best and posting the results weekly. I do not know of anyone that has done that or is doing that now. Do you?
Dynamic one, for sure! :thumbsup
Tranza that seems to be the way things are heading. ;)
I will agree with many I think you should offer both. BTW was nice chatting with you Harv, been a long time ;-)
Been too long I have been developing this for years.......But now I am done and have resurfaced. :)
Don't most TGPs check against changing page data, and if it changes, the gallery gets removed?
Offer both. What may work for one may not work for another.
This is different in that we are going to change the look and feel of the whole Gallery and track which ones have the best conversion rates. This eliminates the old static A/B testing with traffic. We would be providing real time stats on what images videos and layout works best in a particular country and subsequently adding building new galleries from that data we gather to increase conversion ratios every week.
I am talking it over with our team and we are going to offer both with a third option to use the data and build out the a "most popular gallery of the week" The feed back is helping so keep it coming
