Wordpress has a built in permalinks feature that you can change. That'll make wordpress edit the .htaccess file with the appropriate rewrite rules.

The new version has something like that built-in, if we are talking about the same thing.

that have it for the catagories and posts. not for affiliate links. if you are talking catagories it is in the settings permalinks section. Its been in there forever

Do you mean permalinks? You don't even need a plugin in for that. Just select it in the options and ad a snippet of code to your .htaccess.

Did you mean you want your URLs to look like yoursite.com/my-first-post? Or did you mean to hide affiliate links?

that is where many sponsors love to have as many affiliates as possible, even if 90% of them never send a sale, because they all add up to a ton of backlinks for keywords that you are trying to compete for yourself

at the very least, the problem can be solved easily with nofollowing the affiliate links in all posts

maybe Kard can elaborate on exactly what he is looking for?

got sidetracked by the other posts here, and just reread the op and it is obvious what he wants is redirect so that all affiliate links are internal then redirected

not sure of any that do the rewrite with absolutely no '?' or '=' in the url though, but I'll bump this for you anyways

If they're actual links from wordpress you will have to use it's permalinks feature.
If, on the other hand, you would like to have your affiliate links and whatever else be "masked" you will have to use a redirect script or write the mod_rewrite mods yourself in .htaccess :2 cents:

just change the permalink settings

Supz 08-12-2008 01:00 AM

Im not sure what this guy is asking for, I know how to use permalinks. but if anyone has it for masking of affiliate links for wordpress please let me know.

Thanks
