Why do I keep hearing Internext was dead?

Definitely not busy like the first few years.

gleem 08-11-2008 11:35 AM

seemed like less people than last year, from what I hear there are just too many competing shows anymore.

RyuLion 08-11-2008 11:38 AM

do you even have friends?

Jay-Rock 08-13-2008 07:36 AM

You had to buy a $300 badge then pretty much nothing was free. LAME. Phoenix has whooped all the shows so far I have been to pretty much everything was free. RULES

Phoenix also had way more hot models than the other shows.

Chris 08-13-2008 07:39 AM

too many shows
all running together

and internext falls right in the middle with the largest price tag

what do you THINK PEOPLE are you going to do ?

pornguy 08-13-2008 07:41 AM

Because they have a new show ever 30 min or so,

Used to be 3 shows a year now its what 9?

Due 08-13-2008 08:28 AM

I'm very happy with the results we got back from it, both parties and business.
A show is as dead as you make it to be :2 cents:

Xrated J 08-13-2008 08:31 AM

i had a great time and go plenty of biz done

NETbilling 08-13-2008 08:39 AM

We did alot of business, hosted a nice dinner and a very successful Porn Poker Tour.

Eric 08-13-2008 08:45 AM

Sure it was lower attendance, but I think anyone who actually worked while there will agree that the fluff was gone. Thankfully so too!

Instead of having programs bringing 15 reps to the show they brought 1 or 2 of their top guys, everywhere you turn there was business to be done and decision makers to talk to.

It wasn't "dead."

It was def. smaller than past years but who gives a shit? I'll make $$ off this show easily in biz deals.

Quality over quantity.

I third that / or am I fourth.

If you cant prove ROI in the first hour of ANY show you have no business going to tradeshows. If you are only there to party I suggest you stay home.

I can do GREAT BIZ in a room of 5 people or 500 people. Internext still has the highest attendance of any Adult Internet show worldwide. The biz is changing- wake up or you will be obsolete.

I'm just say'n.

See you all in Vegas.

jay23 08-13-2008 10:56 AM

Less people is good as the people their are to do biz and not to party and get drunk at some free party.

For the first time I went to bed at 11 PM and woke up at 7 AM and got a lot of biz done. FL show was the most productive show for me all of this year.

Princess Ellisa 08-13-2008 10:56 AM

I did great business there and by Saturday late in the day I was STILL seeing people I had no idea were even there the first 2 days because there was so many people to work my way through. I suppose it was smaller than previous years (only b/c Chris just said so in his post) but ultimately I agree... less fluff to wade through.

As for the amount of trade shows surfacing in our business I would equate to all the mergers and buyouts popping up as well. We are maturing as an industry and these are all signs of that.

In mainstream industries there can be 2 conferences a month, every month for the whole year. The difference is then that people pick their shows to line up with new product launches or particular points in the year where they want to stimulate their growth.

They don't run around trying to attend them all and feeling like they are missing out if they don't.

I think what you are seeing in adult is that there is some choice about where you go and why. Summer Internext will always be on my list because I always get to make great deals there that are worth my time and the money spent getting there.

That's pretty amazing, looking forward seeing you in amsterdam, lets meet at the third hour of the show, you tell me how you did it and we can discuss sponsorship options for Vegas :thumbsup

I'd just like to know where the "2000 of Chris' closest friends" were....

By my count, I counted at least 700- 800 of his friends were there

lol

Doesn't really matter, I had a great show.
Then again I have fun and do biz at funerals....

BEN FROM HOLLAND 08-13-2008 12:41 PM

People
Its all about quality not quantity.

I did alot of business at show.

ali25extreme 08-13-2008 12:47 PM

I went home with great contacts and great business and it was fun!

Jim_Gunn 08-13-2008 12:57 PM

The show was great, I did so much business! I already set up a shoot for a new client I met at the show and did some other business too for production and some web site deals. Well worth my time, especially since I didn't have to travel! :-)

12clicks 08-13-2008 12:58 PM

sorry, it was great for business. I never stopped to count heads, I was too busy getting business done.

yep...good show

Big Red Machine 08-13-2008 01:19 PM

I think Eric hit the nail on the head......Good Show over all

the content guy 08-13-2008 01:40 PM

I thought it was a good show, and I have been off the show circuit since IA2000, LOL.
Made a lot of great contacts and a couple of sure-fire business deals. One thing I could not help notice was the amount of twinks at the show, yes I know it was a combined gay show, but holy shit the whole lobby was full. Please note, I have nothing against this genre and need to spend more efforts in promoting it, especially after seeing the popularity at this event. It's all good and I look forward to next year!

TheSenator 08-13-2008 01:43 PM

I don't do shows because my wife thinks I'll do too much partying.

I would rather do smaller shows...meet n greets...

Just to know who I am sending my traffic to.
