What do people think of this rock band i notice they are constantly doing new tours by the year obviously for the millions they rake in from ticket sales but are not planning to do any new studio album.I do not like their stuff apart from the hits and they always play almost the same lineup of material from show to show.
Gene simmons seems to be also a expert businessman from what i am reading and you can go to him with any business idea and a 2 million dollar retainer with no promise of getting any return on the money for his expertise in getting your idea off the ground.
Paul stanley seems to fancy himself as a painter and seems to be using that as a additional commercial endevour!

Overrated? If anything they don't get the credit they deserve. Fans love them. They've sold millions. In the end, that's what counts.

How do u work that out i mean they have and continue to make serious money from touring alone. They tend to stick to a certain lineup of material for the live shows which does say quite a bit about them.
If you want to make your personal contribution to their ever increasing wealth i think u can still catch them on tour!

He's one hell of a businessman.

You create a band, logo and image and cut some fine hits and with some common sense marketing over time it pretty much sells itself nothing to do with being a great businessman.

I agree I like them but they are more marketing and shtick than great music.

yeah they need new music, but that being said it probably wouldnt live up to their legend

I'm a fan and love their music, but it is was it is and that's not a symphony. Though they did put out an album where they were back by a symphony orchestra. It's a good time, not serious music.

He's a vigorous self-promoter, as metioned. He's the Picasso of the music industry: Lacking in talent, but with good PR.

My friend was dating a girl who was close friends with a guy named " Doc " ( can't remember his last name ) and he was the manager for KISS at that time. Doc invited them to a concert when KISS came to Miami and my friend brought his guitar and was able to get the whole band to sign it.

After the concert Doc was taking my friends to party in South beach and while they were riding in the car Gene calls and wanted to know how much they had made in ticket sales and merchandise that night.

Gene's always got his mind on the bottom line :winkwink:
