Is anyone using Microsofts Free Silverlight Streaming?
Just curious if anyone has tried it for adult content.
For those who don't know. Sign up for a free account, upload up to 10 GB in files. 105 MB size limit per file. 5 TB of bandwidth per month free (supposedly they inject ads after that). You wind up with a .wmv link you can do what you want with, or a chunk of html that allows you to embed a silverlight media player that will play your file (on mac and windows, IE and firefox). Regardless, I havent' seen anything stated regarding adult content, so wanted to know if anyone has tried it and been shut down. |
I played with it to experiment but ya pretty sure you will get shut down for adult content.

anyone ever write and ask them? Could be a cool way to introduce embedding to my members area without the expensive. So it would be a cheap test.

I know one thing I watch MLB.tv on Silverlight and its fucking CLEAR and awesome.
|
I think the NBC site showing the Olympics is also using Silverlight.
|
itv.com uses it and it sucks fucking monkey balls. crashes half the time, replays ads 5 times over rather than moving on to the program. Its a real pain in the ass.

they have not quite got silverlight down yet.
im sticking with flash. give them another year or two and it will be ready for prime time. |
