The opening ceremony was sweet :)
They did a great job |
revolution!
|
It will go down as one of the most impressive of all time I'm sure.
Saw some behind the scenes footage this morning, the amount of energy that went into that was unbelievable. |
for me it looked like some kind of subconcsious propanada in there :)
|
yes they did a really good job

If it was "subconscious propaganda" - how were you able to comprehend and comment on it at a higher level of consciousness? |
great event :)

It was an interpretive tribute to China's four great inventions in history, involving literally thousands of performers. Yes, all those up and down flowing boxes were secretly brainwashing you... use less gas... leave more for Chinaaaa :disgust |

Some of you need to go back to watching CNN for your anti-china drivel.
For fuck sake, give them a little credit .. they are doing it well. Good job China :) |
It was pretty amazing. I watched it live and then the repeat at 2:30am until 7am, lol it was a long one but truly amazing.
After the last 2 Olympics they knew they had to do something they've made the games more personal this time. With all the promos about the back stories of the people. A mom of Ohio, a 41 yr old swimmer, a 16 year old girl.. etc etc. And then China pulling all the stops with that was just the iceing on the cake. It's good to see people getting back into it.. after 8 years of nothing. |
they did a really good job

I really enjoyed it, was an amazing spectacle.
|
the only way the London Olympics can top this is by reviving John Lennon and re-grouping the full crewed Beatles for 1 show

Anyway I guess the point is that as long as China does not ally with the US then their actions will always be OK in your eyes...... because of course injustice only happens in the US or as the result of US actions (technically refereed to as "war crimes"). |
I think, very pretty ceremony
|
I literally got HDTV the day before (I know - I've only had an HD ready TV for 7 years....I'm slow......). What an AMAZING way to break it in. :)
If you haven't seen it, try and find it on the web or see if someone taped it somewhere. I attended ATL's opening and closing ceremonies and even actually being there in ATL dulls in comparison to watching the China event on TV. Just incredible. |
BTW, from what I've been reading, they have been knocking down the "alley" houses for quite some time and will continue to do so long after the Olympics are over. Also everything I've read points to the owners not being very well compensated, i.e. they are unable to find housing with the money (perhaps rent, but not own).
