I didn't see this kind of uproar when the Los Angeles olympics was on about the USA's track record with human rights.

I smiled when they boo'd as the U.S. team came in during the opening ceremonies. Dumbass Bush stood there waving and grinning like the ignoramus that he is.

Felt bad for the athletes - but the U.S. gets what it deserves for having Lopez Lomong carry the flag into the stadium.

Were you actually watching the opening? I guess cheers sound a lot like boos up north :) I didn't hear any boos and even heard some USA chants.

Yep, watched the entire opening.

I heard no chants - the wife and I both heard boos in the background (in fact she commented on it before I did).

hum. That is interesting. The one thing I did find funny is that half the time when they would cut to Bush he would be looking at his watch or staring off in the distance bored.
