Run dual monitors? Have a question.

Running dual monitors on my laptop. When I leave it on, unattended, it freezes up while Picasa (screensaver) is running.

If I don't have the second monitor set up, there is no problem and I can leave it on for a week at a time.

Does anyone else have this problem? If not, do you use Picasa? I am leaning towards Picasa being the issue, but figured I would ask before uninstalling it.

TIA

I use the default vista screen savers if anything, with a short turn monitors off timeout...

No issues over here.

Well, I have tried just "turning off" the additional monitor but that doesn't help. I have to go to my control panel and remove it that way if I want my backups to be completed.

BTW, have not forgotten our meeting, just been really busy. Are you free this weekend?

Yeah, probably. Too bad, I liked it too. Maybe I have too many pics in the rotation.

That could be also, Perhaps it has to have them all loaded to shuffle them... if they are high res... that will put a heavy load on your processor

also - laptop have the ability to dual monitor, but most are built for it...

all those combined im assuming

I don't know if this is related, but I notice my graphics card runs way hotter when I am running 2 monitors, to the point where my laptop was turning itself off without warning

I unplugged the 2nd monitor and since then not a single problem

Replace your flash.ocx file.

My buddy had the same problem for some reason this worked.

Could be your answer right there. Take some out. Start with the program running like just 5 of them.
Then increase.

Picasa? what the fuck?

I went to the doctor and said "doctor, it hurts when I go like this."

Doctor said "don't go like that."

That's what I did. Turns out that for some reason every picture was duplicated like 4 or 5 times. I knocked it down to 20, and so far, so good . . . but I haven't had a lot of time away from it either.

Google's screensaver program. It looks like it may do other stuff too, but I just use it for that. Is nice because I can easily use my favorite pics.
