Negotiable Agreement?
Well I don't know the standard rates for me to do just a solo for a popular gay site.
I've never been on a gay site at all, I just do straight B/G scenes and modeling shoots. Well here is his business proposition . "You do look great in pictures. The one pic that makes me even want to discuss hiring you is the headshot of you smiling. The others look hot, but staged. No offense; there's definitely a place for that. The smiling pic simply looks more human. I don't want our viewers to just get off by watching you, I want them to fall in love. That's the real way to get repeat business and viral sales. To answer your questions about compensation, we're using a 21st century approach for that as well. The advance on royalties will be very small ~ I won't dress it up ~ just $50 per scene at the end of the shoot. Your royalty itself, however, amounts to an equal share split with all other models (per-product, per-scene) of 25% of the net revenue (past billing cost) of all sales. Each scene will be available for individual online purchase, or as part of a compilation download or DVD. In other words, say you're in two scenes, on solo and one with another guy, both of which make it onto a compilation with two other duo scenes. The individual scenes net, for ease of math say, $4 per download, and the compilation nets $10.80 per dvd sale or download, each past credit card processing cost. So, one month the solo is downloaded 40 times (25% of $4 = $1, times 10 is $40), the duo is downloaded 100 times ($1 split with the other model is $0.50, times 30 is $50), and the compilation is downloaded or shipped as dvd 70 times (you're in two scenes, out of 9 total model/scenes at 25%, equals $0.60 per download to you, times 50 is $42.) So, your royalty for that month totals $132. The sales lifespan of any given scene may be several years. [Obviously, these examples are for math purposes only and should not be construed as a promise of sales. Aren't we glad we have attorneys who tell us how to speak? lol] You can track your sales at any time through your own login, and royalties will be dispersed monthly. (You can verify we're not skimming by having a friend make a purchase and then looking for his first name and purchase date and time in your sales log.) This also encourages models to promote their videos through their own websites, appearances, social networks, and so forth. All told, you can eventually earn much more for your work than through the traditional wham-bam-thank-you-sir business model. We all benefit. So, if this longwinded reply intrigues you and doesn't scare you off, I look forward to hearing from you and perhaps working with you!" I kind of forget their sites name but here is the domain for their model app form -spoogio.com . I'm just asking you experienced people how much higher I should make the take home pay and if to change the percentages? |
So the site is a VOD business model ? Sorry I don't want to look at gay porn right now, don't feel like it.

Sounds like low hanging fruit to keep you locked in and broke, therefore you keep coming back for more scenes that is...
I don't have alot of experience in this arena.. so this is completely an outside opinion :) |
Yeah that's what i thought.
