Seeking new partners...

Who I am.. A little history. Between 1995 and 2002, I owned and operated Kristy's Teens.. one of the most successful websites in the late 90's with annual sales in the millions. I ran one of the very first affiliate programs during the pay-per-click era, designed the system/program myself in 1996, and was one of very few in existence when it was listed on YNOT (the original webmaster site). Ramped click-fraud, a partner embezzling a whole months revenue (and fleeing), and numerous merchant account losses, and third-party billing company collapses, eventually brought it all to an end.
Point being, I'm not n00b.

Now to present day.. the reason I am here.

I was working as a freelance programmer/consultant and was approached by an old employee/artist that said he was friends with a big studio in the san fernando valley, and they had given him rights to use all their content to build a bunch of sites. I reviewed their solution for doing this, and it was a joke! They planned to use a basic open source website cms somehow, and though that would work.. like complete fuckin morons! So I decided to join the project.. since then, i've revamped everything into one hell of a kick ass system. I wrote a Windows desktop program that rips DVD's into flash (or start with a flv file), watermarks, splits scenes, create kick ass trailers, extracts still images, runs batches, and publishes to a back end web based (unix/php) content management system; where all the information about the videos/clips is entered, categories, tags/keywords, and website(s) to publish the clips are assigned. It can manage multipul websites, and the users, clips can be queued for later publishing, and the output can be traditional tour with members section, or tube site style. This is ready to use right now, and we're not doing a thing with it!!!!!!

The way I see it, this is mine. It's my brainchild, my concepts, and I did all the work myself without being paid for it. I know this is worth a lot of money if I can work with the right people. The partners I have now have failed to fulfill their obligation to finance this project; while I upheld my end and developed the solution. Therefor i find them in breach of our (verbal) agreement, and I am seeking new partners. I am hoping somebody here sees the value in what I've created, and wants to make money together. I'm willing demo all this to qualified people with good industry credentials. Looking forward to working with you, and making some money!

You made millions and you don't have money to fund this project, then it is you who has failed!!

Sucks you put so much effort and time into something that's going nowhere fast. I dunno if you would even have the right's to any of it.

so sell the CMS and make some dough. Without content records IE 2257, no company would touch you I hope to try to build the same site. But it sounds like your a brilliant programmer if you've done all that you have said. If you know some PHP, Apache, Unix, and have a good work ethic, you should have not a problem selling your wares to the highest bidder here. Hell, I would kill to have a competent programmer on staff right now. I need one.

Why would you be ripping DVDs into flash for the site again? Are these protected DVDs? And if not are you saying you're converting the MPEGs to FLV? That part's a bit confusing.

This system was created to encode a massive DVD library, and I am sure that I can obtain the rights to publish from a few studios, including the one the current deal is with. I have worked with a few of them in the past, and know the owners. So getting a lot of content will not be an issue.

My program processes FLV files.. and I have another program that can convert any format, including a dvd, into a flash video file.

I am not a programmer for hire.. i'm just looking for new partners to help me capitalize on an investment.

You wrote a wrapper around ffmpeg? What exactly do you want your new potential partners to do?

the windows app uses the ffmepg libs, but it also uses the adobe flash libs as ffmepg alone is inadequate. ;)

what i want from new partners, is to move forward with this project to make money. I've invested heavily in this..
