Mexican Troops Cross Border, Hold Border Agent

Mexican troops crossed the border into Arizona and held a U.S. Border Patrol agent at gunpoint on Sunday, according to a published report.

Agents assigned to the Border Patrol at Ajo, Ariz., said the Mexican soldiers crossed the border into an isolated area southwest of Tucson and pointed rifles at the agent, who has not been identified.

The Mexicans withdrew after other American agents arrived on the scene, The Washington Times reports.

It?s not known why the troops crossed the border, but American law enforcement authorities have said that current and former Mexican soldiers have been hired to protect drug and immigrant smugglers.

?Unfortunately, this sort of behavior by Mexican military personnel has been going on for years,? union Local 2544 of the National Border Patrol Council said on its Web site.

?They are never held accountable, and the United States government will undoubtedly brush this off as another case of, ?Oh well, they didn?t know they were in the United States.? It is fortunate that this incident didn?t end in a very ugly gunfight.?

Ricardo Alday, a spokesman at the Mexican Embassy in Washington, told the Times on Tuesday: ?Law enforcement operations have led, from time to time, to innocent incursions by both U.S. and Mexican law enforcement personnel and military units into the territory of both nations?

?We always try to solve these incidents in a cooperative fashion, and as acknowledged by the Border Patrol, this was the case in the episode at Ajo.?

The General Accounting Office estimates that $23 billion in illegal drugs flow across the border each year.

According to The Times, a coalition of border sheriffs has demanded that the American and Mexican governments probe incursions into the U.S. by heavily armed drug escorts dressed in Mexican military uniforms.

TheDoc 08-07-2008 09:25 AM

Lots of that has been going on, they have busted down doors of Americans too, all types of stuff across the entire border. If you need a reason to build the wall, just read this article.

can you imagine this happening on the can/am border? jesus

I think the US needs to start shooting a few Mexicans every year to get a message through to them. A lot of our problems would be solved if they were too scared to come up here.

They shot him in the back... as he was fleeing. Not that I agree w/ them being in jail either way but there's more to the story then just 'they shot him and got their asses thrown in jail'.

ya ya i keep fucking that up

This is just one reason why our National Guard needs to be on that border with orders to use deadly force as necessary, instead of sending them down there like Bush did last time with their hands were tied while the drug dealers and mexican army tested our troops to see what they could get away with.
This move by the mexican soldiers could be considered an act of aggression/threat and should have been dealt with as such....in other words, they should have been terminated using deadly force.

If this chicken shit administration we have would step up to the plate and send a message to these fucking people that we will no longer tolerate you crap, then I think allot of this shit would not be happening.

tranza 08-07-2008 10:41 AM

Don't US agents and military do this on a weekly basis at least?

I've read inumerous times about this. What's the big deal?

OG LennyT 08-07-2008 10:43 AM

You are correct, there is more to this story. They should have made sure the fucker was dead. Dead men don't talk and he would have never got a deal through this wonderful administration to lie through his piehole.

Hopefully they will be pardoned. This is an election year so maybe Obama or macain will do the good deed. We certainly can't count on dirt bag bush to do the right thing unless there is money or oil involved and then he only does it for the good of himself and his gang of merry politicians. Even congress seems to think they should be released, but not good ole' bush....fucking asshole!

D Ghost 08-07-2008 11:54 AM

what lol we are being attacked by Mexico now!

xmas13 08-07-2008 12:38 PM

Yeah the US is so threatened by a potential deadly alliance between Mexicans in the south and Canadians in the north. I also heard an army of 25 camels from Babylon (Iraq) headed by Five Star General Muhammad was heading towards California. Watch out!

brassmonkey 08-07-2008 12:43 PM

time to call up those volunteers to watch over things maybe kill a few

GrouchyAdmin 08-07-2008 12:44 PM

Who had the "Bombs for Beaners" Campaign? Was that Obama or Hillary?

Yes they do. I have ACTUALLY SEEN THEM MYSELF.

The FBI, the Border Patrol, Even Sandiego PD.

TheDoc 08-07-2008 12:48 PM

It makes no difference if they are a threat or trying to attack us. It makes a difference because they invade American Citizen homes, wrongly, with no warrants and they go in with loaded ak47's, fully geared for assault.

This isn't the first time this has happened, it just happens to be that this time they ran into border patrol.

I guess it's not a problem if it's not your front door being kicked down by some other Gov's Military.

Yeah, it sucks. Now you know what's like to be an Iraqi citizen, minus the airstrikes, suicide bombers, refugee camps and massive unemployment.

Yes, all the previous suicide bombers, death camps, forced unemployment, previous wars from a dictator that beat, raped, killed, and starved his people. Oh I'm sure life in Iraq is total hell today, oh.. must be the shitz for them, best tell the McDonalds to close down.

And really, I don't give two shits about the people of Iraq. I do care about my Military that is forced to serve in Iraq, I do care about my fellow Citizens that are being wrongfully invaded on home soil.

marketsmart 08-07-2008 02:53 PM

i would like to go down to the border with a sniper rifle and pick off a few dozen mexicans trying to cross the border..

seems like it would be a lot of fun...
