Bank of America gets worse and worse and worse and...

Biggest piece of shit bank I've ever dealt with.

HomeFry 08-06-2008 04:47 PM

Maybe it's because they think you suck?

They're more interested in offering me a credit card every 15 minutes then providing any actual customer service. They should take some lessons from AMEX, a company who actually knows how to provide some.

TMM_John 08-06-2008 05:37 PM

Than not then! My blood pressure caused it! I swear!

Pipecrew 08-06-2008 05:38 PM

I like bank of america a lot.

You need to go deal with the private boa branches and you get your own person to deal with all your shit. Its just like the amex black card service, their way of competing.

budz 08-06-2008 05:39 PM

so what are you really trying to say

All the BoAs here were formerly Fleets, and they all suck. And I kindly inform them that my Centurion negates any need for their credit card every time I go in there, yet the next time they ask me again!

is this the one they are pushing you to get? you should get it, you will love it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accolades_Card

At the very least, you can still use your black amex for everything, but atleast you will have some BOA people kissing your ass. This card is also a BOA amex, so its better than the shit visa's they try and get you on.

Bing bang boom.

RyuLion 08-06-2008 06:09 PM

man, don't say that..their happy customers don't wanna hear that!

Pete-KT 08-06-2008 06:37 PM

BoA sucks i paid off all 3 CC's with them and canceled them

Iron Fist 08-06-2008 06:39 PM

Well I think BoA ads are pretty slick... if I was American i'd want to go to Bank of America!

steved 08-06-2008 06:44 PM

I like them because I know the Manager at my local branch. Getting checks cashed without a hold on the same day can be useful. I wouldn't get a credit card with them though:)

aubreythree 08-06-2008 06:46 PM

you face a big problems

Haha so true about the constant credit card pitches:1orglaugh

Steve Awesome 08-06-2008 06:47 PM

BOA is okay in my book. Been with them in one form or another since 1994.

clickyoucutie 08-06-2008 06:50 PM

I've never had a problem with them, except their bitchy teen bank tellers are rude to me sometimes at the drive-thru area.

buyandsell 08-06-2008 07:01 PM

not all branches are like it but going to my local BOA usualy involves waiting in line for 20mins+ to talk to someone whos useless

PersianKitty 08-06-2008 07:10 PM

Never had any problem with BofA up here.

I want a Centurion card (pout). I'm only Platinum.

PK

fallenmuffin 08-06-2008 07:12 PM

I've been banking with them for 5 years without any problems at all. Though my local branch tellers usually talk down to me until they pull up my account. Then they spend the rest of the time trying to upsell me services lol.

mikesouth 08-06-2008 09:10 PM

they bought out my bank years ago but they have been good to me my bank manager even personally called me into his opffice and asked why I didnt have a merchant account. I said I have adult websites, he said you are a 20+ yr customer, I can help. 85 dollars later and a few days for them to approve my sityes I had a merchant account

Beats the hell outta humboldt

96ukssob 08-06-2008 09:58 PM

ive been banking with them for almost 4 years and never had any kind of problems like I have with other banks.

the branch manager called me and asked if they would like me to open a liquid CD account with them. they would set it up, i just had to come in one day and sign the papers. i thought that was pretty cool of them... until i realized how 5% APY sucks ass compared to other returns I get.

however, BofA phone service is HORRIBLE. everytime i call im on hold for 10 minutes

Barefootsies 08-06-2008 10:05 PM

Once I went with a credit union, I never looked back.

I had been with Nat City for prolly 10-15 years. I had got tired of nickel and diming fees, plus you had to jump through hoops for this and that.

Over the course of a year, I started moving one business, then the next, then personal, and savings until all but one account (partnership) was moved to the CU. I have had 2 personal loans, jetski loan, car refinance, high limit credit card, and mortgage all approved with little grief.

Honestly, I really am very pleased with the CU on my banking needs, plus I know most of the people in my branch on a first name bases, and get loans approved in 15 minutes. Which is nice being self employed, and not having to do all that fax bullshit all the time. They keep my shit on file, and just pull it up when I ask for a new loan, or card. Easy peasey.

I closed all my other accounts, and most of my credit cards except for 1 business/nwa, plus two others I keep open only for revolving credit limit reason (Bowflex/Alienware) but rarely use.

I am happy as a clam..

GAMEFINEST 08-06-2008 10:16 PM

they suck balls...fuck em

MissMina 08-07-2008 12:03 AM

Don't care for them myself. But it's a matter of opinion I guess.

Juicy D. Links 08-07-2008 12:05 AM

You should go inside, most of the bitchy teens are little hotties and when they see your balance they try to slip you a phone number or a MySpace.

Slappin Fish 08-07-2008 12:29 AM

Don't know about the service but love the stock :thumbsup

Bought in at around $20, two weeks later sold at $33 :pimp

baddog 08-07-2008 01:22 AM

I doubt I would even leave them. They take good care of me, but I am not bugging them all the time. Not sure how you can have issues with their credit cards. You jut pay your bill, right?

Plus, I am seeing them in places I did not used to see them now.

pocketkangaroo 08-07-2008 01:44 AM

They just bought the bank I used to use here in Chicago (Lasalle). Lasalle was the best, could get a live person immediately upon calling any time. Their system was awesome and I love their ATMs.

B of A has pretty much destroyed that. I hate the new ATMs more than life itself. You have to have each check scanned individually (which takes an extra 10 minutes if you have a lot), plus about 20% of the checks just don't scan. They also seem to have cut back their staff a lot, I've been waiting like 10-15 minutes just to make a deposit.

When I was driving to the airport today I thought the BofA looked new,

xmas13 08-07-2008 05:53 AM

Been using Bank of America for years, no complaint so far.

gornyhuy 08-07-2008 08:19 AM

I used them for 9 years for business banking and CC - not a single problem, and they always bend over backwards when you come in to deposit 6 figure checks.

Having said that: I moved everything to a more local bank because believe it or not they are more convenient than BOA around here.

Atticus 08-07-2008 09:46 AM

What's funny is when I was younger with horrible credit and living paycheck to a few weeks later paycheck I had a lot of problems with every institution. Banks, Insurance, landlords, cell phone companies etc. Always out to screw me I thought and I always had a beef.

Now that I have money in the account and the bills are auto paid on time I rarely have an issue with any of them. Point being these large companies do make mistakes but normally the horror stories you hear are due to customer stupidity.

That being said the only problem I have with bank of america is on the rare occassion I have to go into a branch they're always packed. But the flip side is they have more ATM's than Starbucks. Also loving the BofA Hawaiian Airlines credit card. I pay everything with that card and already have earned 6 free roundtrips to Maui. :thumbsup
