Tampa Bay Bucs QB Brett Favre

Should be a good year for the Bucs now! :thumbsup

sltr 08-06-2008 08:18 AM

is that a done deal?

it's unfortunate the packers brass can only point fingers at favre for all this.

mccarthy certainly did not handle things right

ADL Colin 08-06-2008 08:28 AM

I'm a Bucs fan. Happy to have him. Hellova year last year

CIVMatt 08-06-2008 08:30 AM

I'm so fucking tired of people around here talking like Garcia is some stellar QB, he's just a good dependable backup.

Brett would be great, but the Bucs need another receiver before they'd be anything good.

Um the last time I checked they won their division last year.

Where else should they point fingers? Who is the "I'm retiring, on second thought no I'm not, I'm coming back so change your plans because I'm bigger and better than the whole team" fuck in this picture?

McCarthy shouldn't be in this at all. He is the coach. The end. Politics and contracts are for those higher up. To blame any of this on him is ridiculous.

Thompson.. well, that's another story. I did not like him from the start. He may have very well lied to Brett.. that has yet to be proven, but IT IS A PROVEN FACT Brett has lied on more than one occasion.

I was born, raised and continue to be a Packer fan and up and till recently, I was a huge Favre fan. But now, has become everything he previously claimed he was not and alienated fans and tarnished his legacy in the process.

Had this only been business... well, that would have been easier to swallow, but it isn't, and now I have to explain to my son WHY #4, a player he literally grew watching and came to idolize, will now be playing for another team because he is a selfish bastard. And that pisses me off.

Fuck you Brett, you flip-flopping bitch.

Garcia also made the pro bowl.

Tom_PM 08-06-2008 08:52 AM

No matter how you slice it, it ultimately comes down to Favre and his contract negotiator who approved a contract. A contract that allows a team to not play him AND not trade him, lol.

You can not really come say the other contract participant is wrong or bad for living within the terms of the contract. Sure they could let him play, or sell him. But choosing NOT to is also a valid viable and understandable option.

It's entirely on Favres head, and he should just man up about it and stop whining.

So? Only 6 games out of 16 are in the NFC South. Look at the Patriots division. Other than them it totally reeked. I guess the 18 wins in row don't count now. Last time I checked the Bucs play in the NFL not college so they can't scheudle their own opponents. You play who is on the schedule. Now kindly fuck off.

Hello Matt

OG LennyT 08-06-2008 09:16 AM

I wanted Favre to go to the Vikings.. would've been like Elway going to the Raiders back in the day

I agree he has been acting like a big baby, HE made the decision to retire and HE changed his mind and wanted it his way.
Packers planned ahead since he was retired and he expected they would change their mind and kiss his feet. Same shit last year took him forever to decide he should learn to make a decision and stick by it.

TampaToker 08-06-2008 09:29 AM

Damn you got me all pumped up for no reason lol thought it was a done deal....

sltr 08-06-2008 09:30 AM

relax amigo, it's just my opinion as a football fan.
i won't elaborate since i'm not up for arguing wit ya today but favre's image isn't tainted with me,

i'm sure he'll be in the hall of fame as well.

but yer beef ain't with me, maybe you should write a tersely worded email to the packers organization

mattsbeachhouse 08-06-2008 09:33 AM

Get the fuck over it. Farve has every right to play but the burning question should be "why the fuck would he want to play for some shit hole team like the Bucanqueers?" The only good thing about a Bucs home game is the whore on Dale Mabry afterwards.

Dude, its not gonna happen UNLESS GB trades him. Depending on how much of a dick GB wants to be, they will keep Farve on the roster and pay him not to play, just like the PR offer they made him. If Farve is a big fucking baby, he wont show to the practices and games and he wont get paid. GB holds the cards in this, everyone is just waiting.

for your information he is NOT on their active roster anymore.

TyroneGoldberg 08-06-2008 09:38 AM

It's all fun and games until he break his old ass leg. He shouldv'e stayed retired. I'll go on the record 28 INTS and Bucs last in the divison. Gun slingers do not win rings.

Bucanqueers? boy that's original. You're from Miami and you're dissing the Bucs? Seriously? Didn't the Dolphins have ONE win last year?

tony286 08-06-2008 09:41 AM

20 million to stay retired. He should stayed retired, sometimes athletes dont know when its time quit. I would rather go out on top of my game and that be my legacy.

A) If you think the Falcons are going to be better than the Bucs just stop talking about football because you kow NOTHING.

B) gun slingers don't win rings? I swear Brett has a SB ring. Somebody correct me on this.

What's the most INTS tommy had in one season? Gun slingers just throw the ball, real QB's scan the field and use their brain rather than their arm to throw. His last play of his career was very farve like

sltr 08-06-2008 09:56 AM

gunslinger= throws the long ball and isn't afraid to in any situation.

i.e. brett, tom, terry, etc et al, on&on,

tom should be out. he didn't start throwing long until last year with moss. tom uses his smarts and throws without fear, and is very accurate with his throws unlike brett.

Brett isn;t afraid to throw. he just throws and jump up with hands in the air when someone catches it.

Penthouse Tony 08-06-2008 10:04 AM

The Packer's best chance to win this year was with Farve and they are letting him go. Furthermore by only allowing Farve to talk to two teams they may end up with a bad trade or worse yet, a 12 million dollar clipboard holder.

Sometimes a long interception is as good as a punt. :winkwink:

sltr 08-06-2008 10:13 AM

as good as defenses are these days and esp. cornerbacks, there will be interceptions of perfect long balls.

tired of hearing his name.
