Which event will you be following at the Olympics?

Assuming you will be following any of them. I am a news and political junkie so that side of things is almost my prime sport this time around. Apart from that I enjoy watching the athletics and there is also some little known sport that I always get caught up with for the duration too.

What will you be following?

Looking forward to the opening ceremony more than anything to be honest. Certainly going to be an interesting games no doubt. I guess other than that I'll be watching the swimming, as it is one of the few area's Australia does well in, and also the basketball.

Funny because the British think the Australians are great at everything and just extra great at swimming.

Well usually when the track and field events start we drop off big time. Guess we don't have enough Africans here :Oh crap

tabasco 08-06-2008 06:20 AM

I will be following the ladies volleyball/beach volleyball closely.

From a less aesthetic point of view: I love the weight lifting.

CDSmith 08-06-2008 06:45 AM

As many as I can take in. I love the Olympics.

Anyone who has ever actually attended a games becomes a little more hooked than most people I guess. I was in Montreal for the '76 Olympics and it was pure magic.

Every event holds at least some interest, and there's usually a very interesting back-story in every single competition with at least one or two of the athletes.

pornguy 08-06-2008 06:48 AM

Have not watched them in years.

Might try and catch some this time.

When do they start.

I never got the fun of watching a recorded sports even unless you are going to be a total bubble and not find out what happens until you watch it all.

A couple games ago I got really into the football at the Olympics. The UK don't enter into it because they feel they will be pressured to be a united team (rather than England, Scotland, Wales, N. Ireland having individual teams) at the world cup. The African teams were really going for it and it was actually fun to not have a clue who would win the medals.

Ayla_SquareTurtle 08-06-2008 11:32 AM

For the first time ever, I find myself not caring one little bit that they are coming up. Maybe I'll catch the fever once things actually start, but I'm just not feeling it this time around so far.

Scott McD 08-06-2008 11:35 AM

Probably watch some of the football (as usual).

Not really a fan of the olympics at all...

I am just starting to feel it. I think because I had all my wedding stuff building up until the end of last month I wasn't paying too much attention. Now, I am looking forward to watching the events and the politics.
