I Need a CMS Rebuild, and Mod

Plus some other script mods, and CSS, as well as design work done and whether you pay good, or paki peanuts you can't get the shit done.

Fucking driving me crazy.

Before my ICQ explodes.. make sure you have a portfolio to show, and people who can reference you. I do not work with first timers. Especially on bigger projects.

You can find a detailed list of projects on RAC (rentacoder) if you want more details.

That will save me the time of typing all the shit out and you not being able to do it, and wasting more of your, and my, time.

What CMS are you looking to use...Joomla, xoops, drupal ???

harvey 08-05-2008 06:29 PM

why don't you just hire the CMS people to customize it? If it's the one I think, you'll save time and headaches. Besides, it doesn't look like you're trying very hard to find anyone, you don't even provide a link to your specifications, say it's lost somewehere at rentacoder and it will save you time to type it again when you could just copy+paste and solve everything in an easier and fast way.

Anyway, I work with CMS stuff a lot, and if it's coding work, just let the CMS people customize it. You'll end doing it anyway, esp if it's the one I think.

if it's just skinning customization, rearranging or whatever, you can contact me, but I won't be able to do it for 2 weeks and taking new tasks almost everyday, esp on CMS. However, if you need help or advice, just lmk.

My existing CMS is a custom build, but it needs rebuilt to be less resource heavy. Currently it's PHP, and MySQL based. Also, it needs more things added on. It's incomplete.

So it's a rebuild of that CMS with same features, and adding in new features.

I am not a programmer, so asking me about Joombla, and Drupal is pointless. I have no idea what the advantages, and not, are to those. I just know I need something more stable, less memory hungry, and need additional features built in.

While I have a dozen different projects out there, from designer to programmers needed. Here is the CMS for those too lazy to look it up.

OK, I took a look at it. Even though I can't commit to it, much less in your timeframes, at least I can tell you that you can have both your projects made together by using Joomla with barely no code customization (if any). That being said, any decent designer with some basic knowledge of php (better if he/she knows Joomla guts) and a good knowledge of CSS should be able to do it. Hope that helps :)

Actually, it does.

Although most have recommended Drupal, for whatever reason.

Drupal is easier and enough for the CMS part you need, but if you want it to run with a blog with seamless connectivity (so to say), it's better to use Joomla, it's better, more powerful, more adaptable and more customizable than any other CMS out there. And chances are any customization you may need already exists in Joomla add-ons

I have been using mambo/joomla for 5 years I can build custom joomla components, modules and mambots.

Some of the sites do have that, and the percentages get much higher. It's definitely a good thing when you have people who are new, or no references, or proven track record who bid on bigger budget projects.

Each have their own quirks. Luckily wojbot is booked for months. :winkwink:
