Will you earn more in 2008 than you did in 2007 ?

in other words - another "is the porn dying" thread....

Libertine 08-05-2008 04:33 AM

Yes, I will earn far more in 2008 than I did in 2007.

Not from adult, though :)

After Shock Media 08-05-2008 04:35 AM

Without a doubt I will make more in 2008 than in 2007 even after adjusting for inflation. I will be hitting my 2007 figure before months end in actuality. I have even had more business expenses this year as well.

Make more to me does mean after costs and estimated taxes.

fris 08-05-2008 04:37 AM

for sure, wish i made some changes like i did this year sponsor wise, switching and what not.

Emil 08-05-2008 04:38 AM

About the same, unless I continue to earn like I've done in the last 5 days. :thumbsup

tabasco 08-05-2008 05:03 AM

Stats Remote predicts a comprehensive yes

Jens Van Assterdam 08-05-2008 05:07 AM

I dont care, i have enough :)

Sarah_Jayne 08-05-2008 05:25 AM

In numbers on a page? Yes. In what those numbers are worth with exchange rates being what they are it would be a close call.

polish_aristocrat 08-05-2008 07:13 AM

70%+ so far says they'll earn more than last year

so maybe the sky isn't falling after all....

OG LennyT 08-05-2008 07:23 AM

I already have made more than last year

pornguy 08-05-2008 07:26 AM

Yeah and 2009 is already starting to look good.

StuartD 08-05-2008 07:28 AM

Not me... but then, I had to work a lot of extra projects last year due to it being a very hard year. I had surgery, the wife had 6 months of bed rest, had a new born at the end of the year and so on.

So this year I am planning on making less as I spend more time with the family however, I also cleared out all our debts and wiped out the credit cards so in reality, despite making less, I'll actually have more to spend :winkwink:

Ross 08-05-2008 08:37 AM

The last 3 months are bad. Ratios are going up and up and sales are less. I've had 1 bad month before but then the next picks up big time. This is a bit different. Time to try some new things.

fuzebox 08-05-2008 08:55 AM

Yes, wayyy more, and 100% from adult. My traffic is up and my sales are up. Every month I make more than the last. I'm also working 5x harder than I was 2 years ago.

Barefootsies 08-05-2008 09:03 AM

I will make more this year then last, and before you ask in 2009, I'll make more next year as well.
:2 cents:

polish_aristocrat 08-05-2008 03:31 PM

one more bump

:thumbsup

sinkiss 08-05-2008 03:35 PM

Word. :thumbsup

polle54 08-05-2008 03:39 PM

all over I will make more than twice as much as I did last year.

Elli 08-05-2008 04:14 PM

In US, yes. After the conversion to Cdn? Not as wide a margin.

Paco, of Large Cash. 08-05-2008 04:22 PM

I'm trying to work less & earn less $, each time the calendar flips.

Iron Fist 08-05-2008 04:30 PM

Even with the currency exchange tanking and taking 30 cents of every dollar i'm making this year, i'm still walking away better this year than last :)

This year vs. last year YTD amounts
Unique Hits -10.96%
Raw Hits -10.95%
Gross $ Amount +33.40%
Total Sales +20.13%
Total Rebills +64.71%

Hmm... interesting - so i'm making more money with less traffic for the same time period this year to last year. How about that - and I don't even own a paysite...

But.. theres no money in SEO... trust me, i'd still get out while you can :)

Bake 08-05-2008 04:40 PM

AS I dont live in USA and your Guberment has devalued your $ to paso levels so I will earn less

Sly 08-05-2008 04:45 PM

I will, yes.

Every year you should be improving your life in some way or another. It doesn't always have to be monetary.

Improve your lifestyle. Your education. Your happiness. Your wallet. Something, anything.

indeed, its not what you make, but what you keep:2 cents:

I can remember last year.

If I had 10 signups a month, it was a great month.

Now this year.. If I get 10 joins a day... Its a slow day.

Big change and another life style.

Thanks for reminding me how far I came from..

baddog 08-05-2008 10:52 PM

Already have.

Me too. The halving of the dollar against the Czech Krown, it went from $1 = 35 CZK to $1 15 CZK over the last 5 years has been tough.

Then there is the UK Pound going form 55 CZK to 30 CZK and the Euro it will mean we have suffered just by getting the same turnover. For a few years we increased the turn over.

Nice to see so many doing so well though.

The situation here with custom shooters is they are closing down and leaving, whether they work for one company exclusive or many. Content providers are discounting like mad to keep the turn over up. We found that when we released a scene semi exclusive at $150 set and video no one buys it. When we re release a set at $2 lots buy it. I wonder if more money can be made from selling a scene at $10 than semi exclusive for $150.

The webcam studios here are struggling and some are also closing. Big ones as well as small.

Maybe it's the porn industry realising the market wants US girls. After 20 years shooting in Eastern Europe is seems strange.

I'm glad so many here are doing so well though.

Lykos 08-06-2008 02:55 AM

Yes i will but what does it meter when am making dollars which went to shit, lol

Klen 08-06-2008 03:35 AM

Well i earned much more then last year but still not enough.

Manowar 08-06-2008 03:39 AM

yep, I will, gladly

Bossman 08-06-2008 03:51 AM

Maybe the ones making alot less than last year have already left the business?

Key is to go niche and aim for quality - that is harder to steal/copy :thumbsup

Good domain + Good content + Good traffic = still makes money :2 cents:

And more work

BlackCrayon 08-06-2008 07:42 AM

To be honest, I don't know. I made more in 2007 than any year I've been online since 1998. 2008 seems to be more of an investment year rather than a profitable one. Although this has nothign to do with porn as its been years since porn was my main income source online.

woj 08-06-2008 09:22 AM

It's pretty hard to earn less than previous year, unless you become lazy and start slacking off, or are doing something seriously wrong...

so every single business owner in the world keeps growing year after year?

e-god 08-07-2008 03:26 AM

I will earn more, because I work harder and starting to do some projects in mainstream.
Adult industry is going down that's a fact.
