A pillow and blanket? $7 on JetBlue!

NEW YORK - JetBlue Airways Corp. said Monday it is now charging customers for pillows and blankets.

The carrier has done away with the recycled blankets and pillows used on its flights, and has started offering an "eco-friendly" travel blanket and pillow that can be purchased for $7 on flights longer than two hours. The pair come in a kit with a $5 coupon to home furnishings retailer Bed Bath & Beyond.

The carrier claims the pillow and blanket feature a fabric technology, developed by CleanBrands LLC, that blocks pesky critters like dust mites, mold spores, pollen and pet dander.

I recently took a Air Canada long haul flight paid FULL TICKET PRICE and still had to pay $2for a pillow and blanket :(

Air travel is going through a difficult time I think :(

They also charge you $2 per bag if you want to do express check-in outside. Which doesnt bother me that much because it saves a shitload of time. They also charge $1 for headsets now on there planes. I havent been on one of there flights in a recently and didnt know. Better yet, they only accept credit cards for the $1 for the headsets. no cash.

They better not start charging for snacks.

Just wait until you need to use the restroom.

Travel costs? Most airlines have locked in gas prices, from years ago still, some from way back. The few that don't have locked in prices, pass the cost on to you.

Actually, they pass the cost onto you at the on-going rate, and not at the rate of the previous purchase. All while, the CEO's and Board Members take multi million dollar bonus payments, and why not? After all the Gov will bail them out, so they can take more hundred million dollar bonuses.

So we get fucked over from the over charge from the airlines, then fucked over after we bail them out with our tax money. They have the best gig in the world, why not fail the business and charge for everything at the same time?

What I find the most odd is people who reuse the blankets and pillows and know that they are.

It's really disturbing to pick up a pillow that has hairs on it. Bring your own.

You can enter the restroom for free, but you need to pay for soap, toilet paper, and the ability to leave. Only $4.75 for a piss!

Before long, you will log online to do your airline tickets and be hit with pre-checked cross sales. $5 for pillow, $5 food, $2 water, $5 in bathroom tickets, $2 for carry on, $25 for extra bags. They should just charge based on the weight of the passenger.

Plane problems? No worry, oxygen bags are part of the pre-checked xsale.

When do I get to charge them for being late? Or sitting for an hour waiting to take off? Or maybe a lost bag reverse fee? (I now think they lose bags on purpose to save on gas, allowing them to load planes with less weight, so the overall planes don't have to store as much gas)

If the high speed rail act would have went through in the early 90's, things sure would be different today.

I was so sad when the carry bag broke that I had my travel pillow in. It was so fluffy and comfy, and I looked back and it was gone somewhere in YVR :(

So I got a new one, but it's not the same. It's way comfier than the freebie airplane pillows, though. I usually (I guess not any more?) use the freebie pillow behind my back as a bit of lumbar support and then rest my head on my own pillow.
