fucking AT&T!!!!

their telemarketers are calling me at least 3-4 times a day.. i asked them to remove me from their calling list, they said it will take 30 days to take effect..

what a bunch of idiots!!!

what am i supposed to do?

playa 10-24-2002 03:47 PM

Have some fun.. masturbate while talking to them.

Ask them what they are wearing, are they horny? Do they like whips, chains, and teddy bears, etc.

TFCash 10-24-2002 03:49 PM

write your congressman, tell them you want tougher telemarketing laws. They just started up the no-call list in Kansas and even though it has not gone into effect yet, I get almost no calls any longer. I think the telemarketing firms have pulled the whole state until they can get copies of the donotcall list :) I love it !!!

next one that calls, soon as you realize it's a telemarketer, do what I do...

don't hang up. Just set the phone down off to the side, and go back to what you were doing.

when i'm in front of the computer its fine, i can just fuck around with them... but it goes to my nerves when they call while i'm taking a nap and wake me up.. :feels-hot

hershie 10-24-2002 03:57 PM

well I can't imagine it is as bad as being a long term stock holder in this pile of crap company. My mom had a bunch of her retirement money in ATT stock and it has tanked real real bad.

SykkBoy 10-24-2002 03:57 PM

The worst is when you're in the middle of a good, deep shit and the fucking phone rings...so you hurry to pinch it off, wipe as fast as possible, stumble out of the bathroom, pants at your thighs, trying to get them pulled uop only to hear..."good afternoon sir or ma'am, I have an exciting offer from Verizon wireless..."

.....to which I return to my throne and set the phone on my leg while I continue where I left off (if possible).

There's a nice little trick i learnt a few months ago and I have not received a single telemarketing call since then. When they call, answer the phone like you would at work, like say "Your Name Speaking", or "Company Name, Your Name". When they try your pitch, tell them this is a business office. In Canada, there's a law which states telemarketers must immediately remove your name from their marketing lists or they face a $5000.00 penalty for calling business lines.

You'd be surprised how fast they apologize and will never call you back. No 30 day remove hold BS. Works like a charm at my home. Why else do you think businesses never get telemarketers calling them :Graucho

I don't think cold calling a business is a crime here in the US though.

ask the telespammer if they know of the bukkake ??

when they say no proceed to tell them the definition of bukkake word for word. they always either hang up and never call again.....or they ask if they can come over :Graucho

It should be. Telemarketers are wasting company time/resources to listen to an advertisement. Besides Canadian laws are usually modeled after American laws, so I wouldn't be surprised if there is a similiar law in the states. Can you imagine a Pizza Hut getting cold calls and tying up their line during their prime time of 6-9pm (when telemarketers call). It should be disallowed to cold call businesses, point final.

SykkBoy2 -- too fucking funny. I feel your pain.

I have two tactics I use.

1. I ask them to "hold on a second, please," and then just set the phone down and leave it there for ten minutes and then hang up.

Or:

2. I tell them that we don't have a phone so we aren't interested in what they're pitching. And then I just hang up on them. :xomunch
