SEXBOX gets my vote.

GregP 10-24-2002 12:39 PM

I own xbox and I think it is great, havn't tried gamecube yet

Rictor 10-24-2002 12:53 PM

I need a PS2 so I can still play my PS1 games. Only problem is...it wouldn't play my imports so I would still need to keep my modded PS1. I have too many systems right now...running out of room. I usually wait till they are out a few years before buying them. I'm more of a collector than a game player. Anyone else have one of these:

Mine has been collecting dust for years but it's a cool system.

FiReC 10-24-2002 02:08 PM

xbox is pretty cool ... i want to try this out

priest 10-24-2002 02:09 PM

PS2 is great if you like fighting games and sports games.

Tekken4 is amazing and is for PS2 only. As is Virtua Fighter 4. Both are awesome games.

Plus you can mod the PS2 and play import games or make "back-up" copies of your games. :Hollering

The Xbox is another great choice, Microsoft goes off and buys lots of small game developers and has them make games only for Xbox. Halo is a good example of that.

My buddy has the gamecube and I just don't see the interest in it. The new Metroid may make me eat my words, but so far most of the games seem for a younger audience.

i would love to get anything from a program
the only thing that i get now from the big guy is
skim and charge backs

sounds good

Rex 10-24-2002 02:25 PM

dikkechill 10-24-2002 02:30 PM

I would buy a gamecube, because of Mario and Zelda

GregP 10-24-2002 03:16 PM

my son loves Zelda, I think with kids gamecube is #1

ATL_Ryan 10-24-2002 03:55 PM

We have a PS2 and an Xbox in our office. They both rule but PS2 has better games.

eru 10-24-2002 03:59 PM

Original CARTRIDGE Neo-Geo and Last Blade 2.

Best system ever and best 2D Fighter ever.

Daymare 10-24-2002 04:00 PM

Agreed. I always go with the system that Squaresoft makes games for.

monopolistic bastards and pricks, what is the xbox - a fucking dvd player , but you have to buy an additional converter from them for to watch dvd's.

stfu_Dave 10-24-2002 08:19 PM

Xbox gets played the most in our house, it also makes less noise playing DVD's.....

TDF 10-24-2002 08:22 PM

why not have a choice between the 3? at least if someone picks the cube you will be saving 50 bucks. Also the XBOX now comes with 2 games so thats a nice option

That sounds like a plan , Thanks :)

SockPuppet - The Return 10-24-2002 08:43 PM

Do the xbox and give em a year subscription to the xbox live internet shit (50$). You get a headset and have full duplex voice communication with everyone in the games.

Then, get an xbox or 2 in the office.... have your sales/marketing people playing online with your webmasters.

All a shitload of fun.

just my :2 cents:

Firehorse 10-25-2002 11:33 PM

I have a playstation, some pc games and I about to buy an x-box and psx2.

Some games i want are not available on some consoles and I can see thye benefit of each different system.

I hardly play games - when I do I like to have the freedom of choice to play what I want when I want.

Jon 10-25-2002 11:56 PM

got them all.. ps2 owns.
best game i have - GTA4 - Vice City
nothing comes close. xbox is a nice secondary console choice, but will never hit #1 until they start taking on better game contracts.

times have changed for console gaming. there will only be two big players in the console production game, sony and microsoft. sorry boys and girls, but SEGA quit, went on to make video games (smart move, kinda like atari) and Nintendo is still trying to hold on and trick itself that people like the cube idea.

PC gaming rocks too, especially war games.

Gamecube - Designed for kids! There are a few titles that are 17+ but your average game is like Mario or Zelda. Recommended for kids under 12.

Xbox - I would say the hardware is the best, and has the most potential of the 3, but at the moment it sucks cock. Very few decent games and the controller is bulky. You also need to spend extra money to play DVD's which is fucking lame if you ask me.

PS2 - Lots of fun games. Thats the bottom line. The games, and PS2 has tons of winners.
A nice bonus is the price is cheaper then the Xbox, and it plays DVD without being forced to buy extra hardware.

I would go with the PS2 now. Don't bother with the Xbox until it has another 4-5 games on the same level as Halo...That could take a long time.

theWatsonian 10-26-2002 10:08 AM

I like Intellivision. And the Nintendo thingie.

I don't like Nintendo very much, but the company isn't finished or struggling.
They have decided to forget about making games for everyone and focus almost 100% on kid games.
When Christmas rolls around I'm sure most of the young ones getting a new console system will open a gamecube instead of the PS2 & xbox.

Don't forget gameboy is running strong and nintendo owns that market.

hottoddy 10-26-2002 10:33 AM

Nintendo - Gamecube. The games are simply pure fun. Some may think it's just for "kids" because of the Mario-type characters, but that's not true. They also don't flood the market with mediocre games (like the other systems). These games kick ass.

Star Wars - Rogue Leader II
Eternal Darkness
Resident Evil (completely remade for the better)
Monkey Ball 2
Mario Sunshine
Star Fox Adventures
Luigi's Mansion

Not to mention the upcoming Metroid Prime, Zelda, and new Mario Kart.

The XBox is today's Dreamcast. It runs on a version of Windows and is essentially a mini-PC. Sales are way below projected averages, and there aren't many "must have" titles beyond Halo. Some are already wondering if it will fizzle out in a year or so ...

.:Frog:. 10-26-2002 10:35 AM

What the hell is "Monkey Balls 2"?

My boys have all 3 consoles along with gameboys and some other handhelds.
Right now my 15 year old is playing the hell out of the gamecube. The 18 year old stays more toward the PS2 and the Xbox. They have way more PS2 games than anything else. The 15 year old likes alot of roleplaying games while the 18 year old is into the sports, shooter, car,....type stuff.

winter 10-26-2002 01:17 PM

I've got gamecube, and it pretty much rocks. As a 21 year old college guy, I must say I was weary of the system at first. But playing games like

Super Smash Bros. Melee
Monkey Ball 2
Mario Sunshine

are fun as hell. Especially the 4-player ones. We've already put in about 120 hours on Smash Bros. in the past 2 months, its so damn addictive. Especially on a 42" HDTV :)

Plus, there's loads of great 1-player games out or nearly out... Eternal Darkness, Metroid, Resident Evil, Starfox Adventures, etc.
