K one of your best friends of like say 12 or so years is having this birthday bash at his place, then sends you a message a week after inviting you to tell you that you've been uninvited because a few people there have a problem with me being there and won't go if i'm there...

Is that not fucked up or what? Should I still even bother being friends with this person?

Here is my suggestion. Agree not to go. Then, show up anyways....be super friendly...the kind of uber friendly that scares people becasue they think you might be insane.

Proceed to get really drunk or pretend to be really drunk....insist on playing really obnoxious music, dance badly, sing loudly, fall over, break some stuff, puke in their clothes hamper, poop in the bed, dry hump a few legs and get out of there.

If somebody did not want to come to my party because another person was there, that would certainly be their choice. I would certainly not ask the other person not to come if I wanted them there at my party.

I think a person like that would not be my best friend. If someone asked my best friend not to invite me to his party, he would tell them to fuck off and stay home themselves if they don't like his other guests. That's what a best friend does.
