Panic/Anxiety Problems anyone?

I wanted to post a link to a site my mom put up with an audio program for people suffering with the aforementioned problems. She's helped so many people out over the years, my dad and I talked her into doing this since it didn't seem there was much of anything out there that wasn't at some crazy high price.

So for what it's worth check out:

Xanax only works for so long. If you have severe panic and anxiety you need something stronger then Xanax. :2 cents:

Manic Depressant, Mild Agoraphobic with Serve Panic Disorder.

I've been diagnosed with that by five different people in five different states. Spent six months in the nut house in 1998 because of it...

Nothing you buy on the internet is going to help you. When you are this bad off this is 1 of 3 things to do. 1. Get hospitalized 2. Take meds until you can't walk 3. Ignore it and try to live your life the best you can (my option)

$29.95 Online Help! lol please.

I have seen my mother get people out of the house within a month that where stuck there for years. It's all about changing how you think and well a whole host of things. But certainly when you get to a certain level with it it takes medical help. She had a very bad case of agoraphobia for years and worked her way out of it and that's what she's been sharing with everyone else since. i remember as a kid watching her sitting on the couch thinking she was dying of heart failure and it was panic. Very scary for a little boy to see his mom like that. But what she did to overcome it and since has done for other people is nothing short of amazing. If you don't believe this thing could possibly help you at all then the part of the thought patterns that causes the issues is exactly what you're manifesting in your statement. But again, I agree that at a certain point you need other help first.

I know this is the first one I'm missing in quite some time too. I even have a friend staying down there at the Dip right now whose rubbing it in that I won't be there. It's very depressing but I have another trip in a couple weeks after that and I don't want to be away from my son that much.

Good for you mean! That's basically what she did and I guess just made a system out of it. It got my ass on a plane when I was totally panicked about that for years.

mynameisjim 07-30-2008 10:38 PM

Anxiety problems seem to be growing like crazy. It's a shame because it really interferes with your life.

I've noticed people that went through a period of heavy weed smoking usually get hit with anxiety/depression later on in life. Not sure if they smoked early on because of mild symptoms or the weed actually triggers something but I've definitely noticed a pattern. Anyone else notice that?

A few of the people I know who smoke with any regularity even now seem to have trouble when they aren't smoking. I wonder if it makes you less capable of dealing with stress?

CunningStunt 07-30-2008 11:00 PM

Sites like that should be free.

Making money out of people's weaknesses, insecurities and social ills is just plain wrong.

Well certainly (and especially in Internet culture) there are a lot of people that think just about anything should be free. But by your logic no doctor, therapist or any other person helping you should ever get paid. The reality is that this woman put a year into making this thing (not to mention the years of teaching it before) and is charging I think as much as 10x less than anything else I saw for this type of help and if she wants to get something back for this then I don't see that as wrong. I'm sure my view wouldn't change your mind but I had to speak my part there.

jscott 07-31-2008 01:04 AM

thanks for the link, i'll check it out :)

btw, i've NEVER tried a xanax yet, i've been prescribed big sheets of it, but never taken any yet, i keep 1 in my pocket EVERYwhere i go, it makes me feel better just knowing i have 1 with me

If I'm ever in a situation where I feel nervous, anxious, or panicky... I just have a few drinks and I'm good to go.

I did to and it worked great. Then last year my Doc said my liver was about to blow a fuse and I had to quit. Thankfully, we caught it in time and I dodged a bullet on that one one. Stopped all alcohol and found that the anxiety attacks went away. Seemed like when I'm facing possible death from liver disease panic attack triggers like stuck in traffic, crowds or elevators really didn't bother me anymore.

Now all is good and I'm healthy again, I do however do this:

Taken them a few times, after about ten minutes you go 'Wait, I was nervous a little while ago. Why? I feel fine now.'

It's great med, just use them very sparingly.

I have a panic attack caused by dunnowhatthefuck every day for the last 10 years..

Some days it can be fun and I tell it to give me all it's got..

Other days I am truely scared for my life.

It only happens at night and has never happened when i've been with people.

Dunno what causes it haven't gone to a doc yet... But high blood pressure and anxiety run on my mom's side....

This may sound strange, but I'm planning on becoming a pothead after I move to Nevada later this year.

I've only had very limited experience with it, but since I can't drink these days I figure it sounds like a good buzz and is liver-friendly. :thumbsup

actually, I drank for 10+ years and quit 3 years ago and that triggered it really bad... my mother died at age 38 from cancer so I hit 30 and bam, medical anxiety to the extreme.

I am coping with it, doing really well, telling myself I can get through this. I have made huge changes in my life over the past years to feel better about health. I don't eat meat, don't eat microwaved food, no alcohol, very little caffeine, and I vaporize my weed. And I have to say, the weed helps me. Its medicine. Nothing better to relax.

and now I think I drank so much through my twenties trying to cope (not coping actually), it definitely triggered the anxiety when I gave up the sauce. All the boozing I did contributes and I have had to do lots of mental work. Its been a real journey but I am coming out of it.

bookmarked that site too just in case, thanks :1orglaugh

You *must* get a vaporizer, no bad health effects from smoking.... and this is the one to get, don't bother with those stupid digital things. Best buzz ever for an ex-drinker. Its all I do, and I swear it changed my life. :)

Hey thanks Cherrylula-

I never had a panic attack or any out of the ordinary anxiety issues until I stopped doing illegal drugs (including weed)

Now I take xanax legally and it still gets dicey at times.

I think I need to return to doing blow, personally.

klaze 08-01-2008 12:00 AM

Marijuana can trigger panic attacks because it raises your heart rate.. blood pressure, changes the chemical balance in your brain, etc..

But it's different for everyone.. To say Marijuana causes it in all people would be wrong...

I had to beat my own fear of flying so I get it. Trapped on a plane and no getting off without a long scary death fall anyway. The whole thing freaked me out. Funny considering my mom's whole thing in life was helping people thorugh such problems but when it's your own parents who listens right? Eventually though I did take some of what she teaches and just my own shit and work it out. I still get dicey if it's a rough ride but I'm not taking 3 day train trips anymore to get out West. I still like the one day one to Florida just to relax and be disconnected for a daythough. =]
