Software needed: I need to scan a document and make it text

I need to scan a document and make it editable text.

What can do this? I know I saw something a while back about it, but don't remember the name.

Thanks.

Can't you just get Nid, Poo, Pong, Dong, Dang, or Klud to do it for you? And sorry I don't know the name of such software... but seriously, I'd go with Poo he/she is good at that shit.

Most scanners come with an OCR program as part of the software suite or you may be able to download that software from a web site that sells scanners like Hewlett-Packard, or maybe even find a freeware or shareware software app that you can use with your scanner.

OCR is your friend

FineReader it is

I still think Poo is your best bet.

Maybe his cousin Lik Dong is available.

The HP all in one printer/scanner that I just bought at Best Buy for $29 even comes with OCR software bundled in it

keep in mind that if you need accurate mistake free quality, you will still have to go over everything and do alot of fixing and that is with any ocr software

The easiest and most commonly available OCR software is the infrequently used "Microsoft Office Document Scanning" that comes with Office 2003 and 2007.

Look under Microsoft Office-->Microsoft Office Tools and there it is.

Dak Ting said she might be available.
