WebairGerard 07-29-2008 09:19 AM

sltr 07-29-2008 09:20 AM

be sure and confirm that with your local ups guy, who usually replies with a "HUH?* when i've asked about that.

this turn right thing comes out every christmas

cranki 07-29-2008 09:24 AM

yeah, just seen a documentary about UPS about 2 weeks ago and that's what impressed me the most :thumbsup

I saw the gas company guy zooming around the neighborhood reading gas meters on one of those segway things the other day. It was pretty neat.

I think UPS is more concerned with saving time than gas, those teamster truck drivers are not cheap.

i thought they were doing something where they don't turn off their trucks while delivering packages. isnt it like everytime you start up your car its the same as sitting idle for 15 minutes?

pornguy 07-29-2008 10:51 AM

They save time, they save gas, and they save vehicle crash's. Wonder how this will effect wear and tear on the trucks.

klaze 07-29-2008 10:51 AM

Too bad they can't just get my packages to me on time and undamaged.

For a car its more like 10 seconds.

cykoe6 07-29-2008 10:59 AM

Now if they could just learn how to deliver a package. What a clusterfuck they are.

Fat Panda 07-29-2008 11:15 AM

they have been doing this for years - old news

Socks 07-29-2008 05:42 PM

Anyone know how they deal with all the parking tickets they amass?

DaddyHalbucks 07-29-2008 08:04 PM

Small changes can have large consequences.

I've heard stuff like that but I've never seen any proof.

acctman 07-30-2008 12:20 AM

i've been hearing this Turn Right crap for 2 yrs now. Now all of a sudden they just started doing it thats bull.

Deej 07-30-2008 12:22 AM

The local ups drivers know this and most practice it when they can, they certainly have their routes mapped out to perfection... here anyway..

Ive never had issues with UPS. Fedex however sends me damaged shit all the time.
