Meanwhile, Canadians are paying more per litre at the pump than Americans are. Go figure.

Did anyone in Canada figure there would be an easier way to sell it back to Canadian consumers?

Old news.

I've always been amazed that the news media can't Google this shit. It's been around forever. I guess they just need an evil brown person to blame the world's issues on, and have enemies for the warmongers and hawks to be saber rattling at.

War is big business.

ADL Colin 07-28-2008 10:17 AM

Is there a point to this thread?

Doctor Dre 07-28-2008 10:21 AM

We pay more at the pump because we get taxed on it.

Yes, we had a fuel shortage at one point because a refinery in Sarnia had big problems.

GatorB 07-28-2008 10:32 AM

So about 40% of our "foreign" oil comes from Canada and Mexico.

ok, now put that 18 and 21 on a litre instead of a gallon and you have Canadian taxes on gas.

We get assraped in taxes.

why do that if the americans would buy it at such a higher price?

This is why Canada would laugh it's ass off if NAFTA was renegotiated.. that number is bought at a discount

Oil is not gasoline. A barrel of oil is not more expensive in Canada than in the States.

Sounds like Canadians are just as retarded as Americans.

That is a very good question... the US should do business with Russia, such would help stabilize the region and would create many jobs... I think the US knows they can't push them around so they don't try... not saying everything in the past was correct or proper on either side...

xmas13 07-28-2008 11:16 AM

It's sad that citizens are most ignorant about central topics like politics, energy, finance, science but most aware when the discussion is about movies, celebrities, the latest Ferrari.

There can't never be any democracy. It's like trying to make 0 + 0 = 1. Two empty brains don't make a full one.

The US DOES buy oil from Russia. And Conoco owns 20% of Lukoil.

ADL Colin, look at the size of the former Russia and what they could contribute in a business sense; the US could do much more trade with them very much like how they do business with Canada... I'm sure the US is doing business with countries that I have never heard of... however, that does not mean they are doing any great volume of trade with them...

About 5% of Russian exports go to US.

Anyway in 2006 ...
