Anyone want a Rolex?

My mother gave me a SS Datejust in 1990, which I wore for about 5 years until it stopped running. It has a sapphire crystal, silver "sticks" dial, jubilee band, all original paperwork and innter / outer boxes. After it stopped running I bought a SeaDweller and it's been in the safe ever since. Rolex service should be somewhere around $300-$500. It has normal wear and tear from everyday use.

Watch currently retails somewhere in the neighborhood of $3000-$3500.

$1000

....yeah right, I heard this same story from some guy on the street corner wanting to sell me a rolex. :winkwink:

frankfortuna 10-23-2002 11:09 PM

Are you stalking me?

frankfortuna 10-23-2002 11:22 PM

The "automatic" versions sweep, so you are correct. There were a few quartz Rolex models produced at one time, but this isn't one of them.

beemk 10-23-2002 11:26 PM

does it have a dead battery? :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

I dont get it.
Non gold brand new Rolex from official dealer costs around 3500$ in major EU countries.
In Switzerland I think You can get it for less.

What's the idea buying it for same money from this guy and it's used?

Normal gold Rolex comes around 10 000$-15 000$ brand new.

"Sold."

I just bought a rolex, It has a sapphire crystal, silver "sticks" dial, jubilee band, all original paperwork and innter / outer boxes. After it stopped running I bought a SeaDweller and it's been in the safe ever since. Rolex service should be somewhere around $300-$500.

I am selling it for $1200, anyone ??

frankfortuna 10-24-2002 06:25 AM

IWC has a few impressive models as well.

dav555add 10-24-2002 07:18 AM

I've got a Porsche Design Limited Edition Titanium Chronograph #1946/1999, doesn't need a battery, as long as you are alive and move your body, it recharges itself.
collector's value: $15000
for sale: $7500

I also have a casio for $15

I am not sure who sold you yours, but the originals say Patek Philippe. Run down to the street corner, the guy might still be down there.

hehe, not to be a dick, but a broken SS rolex does NOT retail for 3000-3500
niether do 12 yr old SS rolexes.
A Brand new SS rolex will retail for 3000-3500
Also, Rolex service costs 300-500 for maintanence service, not repair.
repair could cost anything and you're in no position to represent what it would cost.:1orglaugh

frankfortuna 10-24-2002 07:56 AM

Conversely, I hate to sound terse, but you should read before you speak. The watch new retails for $3000-$3500, which I stated as a point of comparison. Never did I state that a used Rolex is valued at $3000-$3500.

Furthermore, I inquired with Rolex USA regarding service, and they offer flat rate repair. Therefore my friend, it would seem that you are in no position to represent otherwise.

Are you usualy a raging cocksucker or is it just my lucky day?

Jesus, can you people not fucking read? Retail implies new in english in case you are not aware. Nowhere do I state that a used SS Datejust is $3000.

perhaps you should take a course in forming sentences
"Watch currently retails somewhere in the neighborhood of $3000-$3500."
what watch? a broken 12yr old watch? a working 12yr old watch? a new watch? you don't say.

Who exactly do you think you are? I don't recall asking for your condescending remarks. Just another nerd acting tough behind a keyboard I suspect. Grow up and vent your inadequacies / insecurities elsewhere.

Why do you have your SeaDweller in the safe?....Why even have a Rolex if your not going to rock it? The SeaDweller is a sport series and their made to wear everyday....

I wear my Daytona everyday..........!
