they don't let you bring alcohol in?

Andy Servers4Less 07-27-2008 05:48 PM

Pretty sure you can just bring it in.

kenny 07-27-2008 05:52 PM

I never had a hotel tell me that I can't bring in alcohol.

I never thought of it as being a rule. Never hide/smuggled it, none of those things. Just walked in with it. :1orglaugh

themachinelavene 07-27-2008 05:52 PM

never heard of a hotel not allowing alcohol to be brought in...that would be pretty fucked

GTS Mark 07-27-2008 05:53 PM

I want to bring in mojitos and sell them to wiredguy. If I priced them at $7 a drink I will be able to corner the market, i think a double mojito down at the bar is like $22 LOL

Few years back at Internext in Vegas, Venitian forced us to buy the drinks from them. Graygose was like $150

Cory W 07-27-2008 06:23 PM

Lots of Hotels don't allow you to bring in Alcohol because they want you to buy it from them.

Just put it in luggage.

rhon23 07-27-2008 06:27 PM

When you go shopping for your alcohol bring a suitcase with you and bring it in that way

minddust 07-27-2008 06:48 PM

Don't know about alcohol... but last year in room 334 there was a guy who was selling awesome ketchup baggies:thumbsup

WiredGuy 07-27-2008 06:50 PM

if you check in before avn brings their rent a cops, you should be fine. If you checkin when they begin their patrols, then smuggle it in your suitcase.

Thay sux :(

fuzebox 07-27-2008 07:14 PM

I never had a problem, but I guess I wasn't carrying massive amounts of it out in the open...

Thank god they never have a problem with the two 24 cases of bottled water though :1orglaugh

Redmanthatcould 07-27-2008 07:36 PM

Didn't have a problem with it last year. Brought a couple 24-packs in with me to the Homegrown suite party.

Even had a bellboy bring one of their carts to take them up for me. *shrug*

PersianKitty 07-27-2008 07:41 PM

I'll just have to see if I can find someone to buy me drinks.

Unless I was covering a round for the group, I don't think I've ever paid for a drink at a show - you should be fine :)

But as far as a party, yes, most hotels like The Diplomat who overcharge like crazy get their panties in a wad when you start carrying what you bought off premise into the hotel. As others have said, use a suitcase. Been done for years.

iamkathi 07-27-2008 08:34 PM

tip the bellman well and he'll take care of it for you. He'll tell you that you can't do that... just say" My boss will kill me if I don't get this to his room". Blame it on the man.

the content guy 07-27-2008 09:06 PM

I always just drink it outside and smuggle it in that way.

Supz 07-27-2008 09:21 PM

its a hotel, not a concentration camp. im sure you can bring whatever you want.

Pete-KT 07-27-2008 09:36 PM

smuggle it in your suitcase thats how we do it, But I know they said before if the hotel catches you with them in your room they get very pissed ;) oh well im not paying 150 a bottle

jakethedog 07-27-2008 09:48 PM

wouldn't call it smuggling .. brought TONS of booze back to my room from right down the road at 7-11 many times ..

starpimps 07-27-2008 09:55 PM

i fully intend to bring a case of beers and a few bottles to my room for personal usage...if at 5am and you are dying for a beer with no place to go, my room is the place to be

never had any hotel deny me from bringing in outside booze..but then again i dont stay at classy places like the diplomat heh
