OK NOOBS, Here's some advice....

if you dont own a program, you are getting ass fucked... whether people have the balls to admit it or not, its the truth...

is this doom and gloom? NO...

here's the only bit of advice i can give you.... do whatever it takes to make "you" money..

NO one here cares one little bit about you.. sorry, but its the truth...

so take care of you and your own...

need content, steal it... if it makes you feel better, steal it from the sites that you see here doing shady shit...

if most of you knew what is going on and has gone on since the 90's, you would understand what i am talking about...

i run a tube site.. half of the content i own and the other half is "borrowed"...

do i care? NO, i dont.. i have bills to pay and personally i could care less about anyone in this business..

i do business with some of the largest programs out there... they know exactly what i do because i tell them upfront..

do they care? NO... they just want my traffic...

this may sound sad, but its fact and i make no apologies...

this is a :fuck you before you fuck me business... always has been and always will be..

stop your whining and either get in the game or exit stage left...

in either case, no one cares....

crazy cross sales and illegal tube sites doesnt even come close to scratching the surface when it comes to some of the shit that has and is going on in this business..

so, all i can say to the noobs or people seeing their numbers decline... get in the game or quit...

its easy to shield yourself offshore where no one will have a clue as to what you are really doing...

i dont mean cheating on taxes, etc... but, protect yoursefl so you cant be located and you will have no problems...

its comical how many people post here about how they hate cross sales tactics or illegal tube sites, yet they either do it or let affiliates do it...

grow up... its an evil world and doing the right thing doesnt put food on the table...

without naming names, this is about the closest most of you will ever get to knowing the truth...

ericdv 07-27-2008 01:10 AM

your logic makes no sense in the long term.

yes, i know some of the biggest programs are involved in the shadiest shit and have no problems with their affiliates doing shady shit, but if every program placed prechecked, confusing x-sells on every join page on every site, and if every affiliate ran only illegal tubes to promote sponsors, eventually your paychecks would stop coming.

if i were a surfer and hit a join page with prechecked x-sells placed below the submit button with confusing text next to them, i'd probably never notice them until i check my cc statement to see a $120 charge for a membership i thought was free (or a dollar or whatever). i would feel totally fucked and i would never buy a subscription again. period. also, it's pretty fucking easy to avoid buying a subscription due to the massive amount of 30min, 45min, and hour long videos available for free in just about any niche you like on any of the thousands of illegal tube sites up now.

so, shady billing tactics and illegal tube sites work hand and hand to prevent surfers from taking out their credit cards and joining sites in the future. after a while, no one wants to buy memberships anymore and all of your traffic is useless.

in the short term, yes you get those $50PPS payments, but in the long term that money is going to be gone.

ericdv 07-27-2008 01:13 AM

oh, also, i don't even understand why webmasters get so excited about $50PPS over revshare. if you work out what the surfer ACTUALLY pays by mistake after not noticing prechecked x-sells, a lot of the time it's above $100, and the surfer will never rebill, so you are getting less than 50% of the sale with no possibility for rebill money in the future. it makes no sense.

yahoo-xxx-girls.com 07-27-2008 01:19 AM

Kind of sad marketsmart, but at least you are calling it for what it is... thanks.

do you see? you get it....

my post was based 1/2 on truths and 1/2 to make people think... :thumbsup

the first step is making people think...

the second, more difficult step, is making change...

ericdv 07-27-2008 01:37 AM

no, i don't see. if your post was based 1/2 on truths, then which 1/2 is true? the 1/2 where you said you steal content? or was it the 1/2 where you suggested that webmasters 'get in the game' and start taking part in shady business tactics just because everyone else is and it's a good way to make a quick buck?

halfpint 07-27-2008 03:46 AM

Im thinking about starting a huge torrent site.. If I start another tube site and link the two together, should push some good traffic. which I could then sell to other webmasters..similar to purtna.com

halfpint 07-27-2008 03:50 AM

I meant similar to puretna.com

StarkReality 07-27-2008 04:16 AM

It's certainly not nice, but I think it sums up the state of the industry pretty well. Most people give a shit on business ethics or even laws as long as the cash keeps flowing...I don't say all are this way, but unfortunately it's the majority.

There is a large population of people in America that share your ethics. They're called "the prison population."

You'd be surprised to know that the population size far exceeds those currently serving time. The rest of it, which is the bigger part, belongs to the honest-unless-caught category.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethics

"Ethics is a major branch of philosophy, encompassing right conduct and good life. It is significantly broader than the common conception of analyzing right and wrong. A central aspect of ethics is the good life, the life worth living or life that is simply not satisfying, which is held by many philosophers to be more important than moral conduct."

Total agree with you ericdv! If players continue to mislead (screw) their subscribers, and tube sites continue the massive proliferation of free content (stolen or otherwise), then this combination of stupidity may make a few scumbags some bucks in the short term, but it will totally kill off online porn as a viable business over time.

The statement "adapt or die" to these type of shortsighted business models is beyond rediculous.

Hahaha.

What an idiot. Yes everyone go out now and start a paysite program .. the affiliates will flock to you and you will make mad cash with no investment. Marketsmart said so !!! :)

Oh dont worry about doing things legally ... it doesn't matter !

tony286 07-27-2008 09:21 AM

very short sighted.

Thats great advice to be giving Noobs. "Fuck over as many people as you can as long as you get paid". Nice.

fallenmuffin 07-27-2008 09:24 AM

1. Do what YOU have to do to make money

2. Shady tactics and fucking people over will make you money but for how long? I know a webmaster that stole a shit load of content and started a little paysite with a EURO processor. It lasted a few weeks and he made 4,0000+ EUR.. was it worth it? He just got out of a jail 2 months ago for non-related other shady tactics and fucking people over. He's now broke, a convicted felon and starting all over again.

Nice guys may finish last, but they finish. Sometimes you have to break the rules but there is a limit. And illegal tube sites don't effect the whole industry... i..e my niches aren't even being "tubed".

He's just saying "Learn from the best". That's how 90% of the top people in this industry got where they are now. In fact, many still do shady shit, oftentimes in plain view too. Just look at this board and you'll see what I'm talking about.

I'm sure pleny of people made a lot of money by being honest practicing good ethics.

plsureking 07-27-2008 10:06 AM

i see nothing new here.

the first porn sites were stolen content.
scanned straight out of the stroke mags.

chitchat on gfy wont change anything either.
this place reminds me of a biker bar i used to drink at.

i doubt anything will change
the way this industry operates.

but do u really think
corporate america operates
under better ethics?

i know lots of corporate guys
who would (&do) lie cheat and steal
to get a new promotion or drive
the latest bmw.

all that matters is if u can live with yourself...

Plenty, yes. The majority of the people to have ever worked in this industry? Not by a longshot.

CUTTER 07-27-2008 10:24 AM

So . . . . . you can make money by putting pictures of naked girls on the web?

How would one go about doing such a thing? I would like to get in on this before everyone else catches on. Thank you.

ParlourCash Karl 07-27-2008 10:43 AM

lol so true, I signed up for a site today and just took evertything as normal..then when I click accept it gives me an error.......mmmmm I check the error and by mistake the two passwords did not match....I type them in again and scroll down....shit I did not see the Pre-Checked box for $29.95 over and above the membership price.....shit I am pleased I made the first mistake.....then I look at my CC bill which I never do.....fuck it has happened like 4 times over the last 3 months.......so much for supporting other sites and doing research.....lol......why try and scam????? it only leaves a bad taste in ones mouth....surely one has enough confidence in their content and programme to expect a rebill......a member that finds out they have been scammed will never rebil ever let alone give you another chance.....and also blacklist anything you have to deal with......is it worth it...I doubt it.........long term members and repeat billing is what makes us all survive.....and in the climate we have today we need to look after what we have.....

Matyko 07-27-2008 12:06 PM

Considering Steve doesn't do shady shit and he is a very large fish. I guess that could tell the noobies if you actually have shit people want to buy you dont have to do shady shit. That would be my humble guess.

come on tony.. you're a smart guy.. you are way over analyzing this....

this thread was merely for my own enjoyment..

like i said.. everytime this box gets open, people get all excited, yet within a day or less its all forgotten and the industry goes on business as usually...

its become so sad, its actually very comical to me..

AND YES, steve is actually one of the most stand up guys in this business.. but, he represents the few and not the many unfortunately...
