Just Watched The Movie 21 ....

It was pretty good. I wish I could count cards like that mofo :thumbsup

All in all a movie worth watching...

Deej 07-26-2008 10:52 PM

I just watched it too, last night... Pretty good flic...

Based on a true story... I dont know if it all played out like thatr, but there was an MIT card counting team that took some casinos... Im just not sure about the ending twist...

I watched drillbit taylor too, decently comical...

I just watched that movie Friday night and it pissed me off to no end. I actually wanted to stop it because it was getting me so worked up. They had a good scheme going, but they were also taking horribly stupid chances and should have been caught long before they were.

stickyfingerz 07-26-2008 11:01 PM

Watched it this morning. There was another movie about the same story like in late 90's or early to mid 2000's Fuck all if I can remember the name of it though. lol

flowereater 07-27-2008 12:48 AM

i love that flick too. amazing how they count those cards, is it for real?

uno 07-27-2008 01:31 AM

I saw that in theaters. I really liked it.

The MIT team hit before the bigger innovations to catch on to card counters... just like all through the film they talk about the oncoming gaming surveillance that zeros in on offenders...

im sure the real time was much more subtle than these actors...

nonetheless, card counting is very real...

It's a good movie indeed and yes I'm pretty sure there are skilled card counters.

With proper training and enough practice just about anyone with an above average IQ should be able to do it.

Violetta 07-28-2008 05:10 AM

yeah, I saw it 2 weeks ago. It was good!

DamianJ 07-28-2008 05:19 AM

As a magician I assure you card counting is real.

Also, read the book. It's SO much better than the film.

I was actually talking about stupid shit like hiding $300k in your dorm room ceiling. As well as the very obvious way they kept staring at each other in the casinos. Drove me nuts!

tranza 07-28-2008 06:04 AM

Manowar 07-28-2008 06:39 AM

well, like I said, I'm sure that the real team was much more subtle...

I'm sure the money suggling and eye balling was all in the eye or the producer... they are actors...

Perhaps my mistake is mixing your view on the movie for the real players...

either way, I liked the movie...

Michaelious 07-28-2008 03:41 PM

Although all the original hustlers were Asian so they changed that in the movie.

fuzebox 07-28-2008 04:59 PM

Bringing Down The House is a great story, but if you want to read an amazing blackjack story try to find Busting Vegas by the same author, which features another team from MIT that used techniques on a whole new level, way more complex than counting.

raven1083 07-28-2008 05:00 PM

I've heard so much from that movie and going to watch it soon!

maalox 07-29-2008 10:41 AM

Saw it sunday night very good movie!

qxm 07-29-2008 10:52 AM

I thought it was going to be a stupid movie about teens getting rich.......and since the trailers/commercials made it look really stupid ... I didn't really have high expectations of it... but well.... it turned out to be quite good :)

WebairGerard 07-29-2008 10:56 AM

I will be checking this one out soon too. the book was very good.

pornguy 07-29-2008 11:03 AM

Its real, and its not that hard. Just takes some practice. When I was younger I did a fair job on 3 decks. I think in vegas they use 5???

klaze 07-29-2008 11:05 AM

That movie went to DVD sooooo fast.
