A friend of mine told me he did an interesting thing (blog related)

He is a programer and he made a mainstream program that is making WP blogs and feeding them with 100's of feed's, TRANSLATED into 30 languages as soon as they RSS on his blog..... Kinda made me interested ^^

interesting, I have noticed that most big mainstream feed sources have strict TOS against translating and strictly retain the copyright, so that takes the ease of it out of the picture, but I guess he could find some stuff that would give him permission

Let's just say you take a feed and translates it and leaving as is, I'm sure they will sue your ass off.....not

Let me just clarify that I have never used even an RSS feed on any of my blogs (50+) so far and they are perfectly legal as far as I know. (1 celeb blog though hrmm) :)

hey no argument intended here Nicky, just wanted to point out that what seems like an easy and perfect idea can run into the problems of copyright, I've thought about ideas like scraping feeds to make automated sites, but even though rss feeds are out there, most of the time they are intended for personal use only in readers, and any republishing use is strictly restricted in their copyright TOS, even translated

we don't really think about that in adult rss feeds, because the sponsors offer their feeds for use in republishing as a marketing tool (although there would be a problem I'm sure if you used a sponsors feeds and stripped their links out of them and promoted someone else with them

most mainstream feeds will only allow republishing for non-commercial sites (ie. no ads at all of any type) and they require that no modifications and all links and extra credits be put up... it's a real pain in the ass :2 cents:
