Any Word on Candid Cam ?

Anyone knows if candid cam is down for good?

venus 07-25-2008 12:13 AM

no on on here uses candidcam stuff?

Tat2Jr 07-25-2008 12:58 AM

I dunno. I'm sick of them always being down, and never updating their feeds. Looking for replacements as we speak. Was going to start a thread like yours but when I searched "candidcam" here it was just threads exactly like this one with no answers from the company, so I didn't even bother. There was even one from me from 4 years ago about the same issue. Anyway, I think I'll spend my $600 elsewhere. I wish they'd pay more attention to us, since I have some promo stuff mentioning voyeur dorm..... you know, and the $7k+ I've payed them each year..... for years and years. :(

venus 07-25-2008 07:58 PM

I have been paying them $1000 a month for...since 1999 I think, now their site has been down for 3 weeks, phone dicsonnected, no one answering their emails

Just a bump to see if anyone here has any contact info for them?

Tat2Jr 08-13-2008 12:18 PM

They charged us yesterday, and Lori spent an hour on the phone with the credit card company to try and get it reversed. Here's their info from VoyeurDormCash. Bump this thread if you actually hear from them.

Tat2Jr 08-13-2008 12:29 PM

Shane just answered his ICQ when we said we had a question about VoyeurDormCash.

Danny_C 08-13-2008 03:15 PM

Hello everybody.

First, I want to assure you that we're still here, and that this is being resolved.

We had what you might call a perfect storm of disastrous events. We've had some turnover in the programming department, and before we had a chance to get all of this ironed out, it seems the servers pushing our feeds were compromised.

Up until a few days ago, everything seemed fine on our end except for two feed customers who were experiencing issues with their links. Then everything went down at once. We immediately flew in a team of network guys and programmers to resolve this and to assess our network. Once they were on site, we found out we were compromised. Looking back at the logs, we have concluded the servers were first compromised right at 2 months ago. The new programmers initially had to familiarize themselves with the way the feeds were setup, and we ended up losing some of our data during that process. Right now, the guys are working around the clock rebuilding portions of the feed software and they have assured us we will be back live very soon.

We apologize for the inconvenience, and we plan to give everyone two months credit to make up for this downtime.

Please let us know when this is done, so we can check with our credit card company. Lori will be contacting you through ICQ, and email.

venus 08-13-2008 10:17 PM

I tried everything to get in contact with these guys, their phone number on the invoice was bad, I sent a fax to them askign them to get ahold of me, nothing, emailed everyone I could find an email address for, nothing, icq'd them... nothing... servers being down for 2 months is one thing, not telling your customers while you continue to bill them is total BS.

I have been using candidcam stuff since 1999, 9 years....maybe they just dont need their customers any more.

Please answer Lori on ICQ. She's been trying to talk to you guys for 2 days about canceling and getting our 2 months of non-service refunded.

pr0 08-14-2008 04:06 PM

B O B 08-14-2008 04:54 PM

Tat2Jr 08-15-2008 05:01 PM

Wow.... another day..... another blow off. Anybody else important enough to get an ICQ reply?

Dan 08-15-2008 06:02 PM

sorry to hear of the troubles. Hope you all get them fixed soon. If there is anything we can do to help let us know. Danny you have my number.

Are you kidding? It amazes me that nobody could answer a phone during that time, or that you guys couldn't post or send out some kind of info to your clients!

We removed our links to you, and I hope to never see another charge from you guys, or I will charge it back. Customer since '99 here....

Yeah... we've been with 'em since the 90's too. Sucks they can't answer ICQs. I don't want to use the "CB" word yet, but 2 months of non-service, and yet we were charged. :( It seems so stupid to ruin the names of VoyeurDormCash.com, VoyeurDorm.com, and Candidcam.com on all the webmaster boards all because they won't answer their ICQs. :2 cents:

Customer since the 90's. :disgust

BTW - DON'T VISIT CANDIDCAM.COM - AVIRA ANTIVIRUS JUST GAVE ME A VIRUS WARNING WHEN I VISITED THEIR FRONT PAGE.

Tat2Jr 08-15-2008 09:29 PM

God damn it..... getting the same VIRUS WARNINGS from the feed links inside my members area. If you still have the links up you might want to check them with your virus protection on full blast. Mine are just being removed. Starting Charge Back proceedings tomorrow. Fucking sucks to do that to another company but they've left us with no choice. So fucking sucks.

Tat2Jr 08-15-2008 09:43 PM

Here's what Avira is popping up btw-

Virus: HTML/Infected.WebPage.Gen
Date discovered: 14/08/2007
Type: Trojan
In the wild: Yes

realed 08-16-2008 01:55 AM

This is total BS.... i had been with Candid for YEARS before this happened.

I tried emailing, posting on these boards etc to find out what had happened. You managed to charge our company business card TWICE in the space of 1 week before you disappeared without notice. Rest assurred we WON'T be using you guys EVER again. I assummed you went bust. I have blocked my card so don't even consider trying to rebill us for a service we haven't had for approx 2 months now. I've found replacement feeds.

Shocking!

Terry

Tat2Jr 08-16-2008 08:07 AM

Bump for a refund of the last 2 months of non-service you charged us, so we don't have to deal with charging it back.

Also, as a public notification of our canceling your service since as soon as we mentioned that to Shane on ICQ he magically disappeared (after tricking him to answer us by asking about VoyeurDormCash.com).

And, also as a warning that you still have viruses on your members feeds (VoyeurDorm.com), and the front page of CandidCam.com.

Tat2Jr 08-16-2008 01:06 PM

Back to the top! Still waiting on word of our refund. :(

Tat2Jr 08-16-2008 11:19 PM

How long can a decade long customer keep this thread on the front page? Answer: Until I get my 2 months refunded, and acknowledgment that I've canceled. I'm gonna be really pissed if I have to Charge Back, and cancel that card.

And just so everyone knows - Candidcam.com is STILL making my Anti Virus light up! I'm sure the members feeds to VoyeurDorm.com are still doing the same as soon as you click through the opening page of them. Don't give your members viruses!

Virus: HTML/Infected.WebPage.Gen
Date discovered: 14/08/2007
Type: Trojan
In the wild: Yes

Tat2Jr 08-17-2008 01:55 PM

Has anyone actually gotten a ICQ response back yet? Thanks in advance.

Tat2Jr 08-18-2008 05:59 AM

Well, this is just lame. Haven't gotten my refund for non-service. Haven't heard back on ICQ. And Avira still says they have that virus on Candidcam.com and on the members feeds that they sell to webmasters (VoyeurDorm.com). If you still have their feeds up in your members area according to Avira Anti-Virus you're giving your members a virus!

I hate to say it, but I'm going to actually have to do a charge back on them today, and since it's obvious they don't care about their customers (of 10 years!) I'll have to cancel the card too. No way am I gonna "trust" them to not charge me again.... they won't even acknowledge that I canceled. Won't respond to ICQs unless you trick them by saying "I have a question about VoyeurDormCash.com".... Then, magically you get all 3 of them on. And when you talk about wanting your money back and that you want to cancel they magically disappear just as fast.

Lori won't be up for around 5 hours, so if you want to do the right thing Danny please respond to one of her many ICQs (Shane got some from her too). Her ICQ is 266218523, but like I said... you've got plenty you could just respond to. Past that, I know she's going to be on the phone with the credit card company as soon as she gets up. I hope you can man-up and just respond, refund, and cancel us before she calls to charge back.

I just want the karma gods to know I did everything possible before resorting to a charge back. Fuck.

Tat2Jr 08-18-2008 04:08 PM

Charge back was done today. Sucks ass we couldn't have taken care of this between us.

Bruce_Miller 08-18-2008 05:10 PM

Strange... just strange...

I know. I just wish I could get a conformation from them that I'm canceled. :helpme

realed 09-02-2008 01:20 AM

i got double charged again by CANDID... i am charging back every single payment they ever took from me... absolute scamming bastards....

Tat2Jr 09-30-2008 12:34 AM

Bump since you sent us an invoice this month.

realed 09-30-2008 05:36 AM

yip, we got another invoice too.... they are in for the biggest chargeback bill from us ....

we are working with the barclaycard fraud department about this....

we'll get all our money back but it is so PATHETIC that these stealing bastards think they can get away with it...

Funny how they've never answered this thread!...

C-U-N-T-S ....

Yeah, we had to cancel that card, and we're in the process of doing chargebacks too. Be sure to print this thread out for your bank if they need it, since knowing how these assholes do business they will probably try to deny the chargebacks.

I'm still in awe of how they treat customers that have been paying them monthly for almost a decade. Won't even respond to this thread again, let alone answer customers BEGGING to cancel their 'service' (or lack of).

Tat2Jr 09-30-2008 07:55 PM

Oh.... and Candid Cam is still popping up my Avira anti-virus program - If you've still got these feeds in your members area be sure you aren't giving all your members a virus. :(

08-13-2008, 03:15 PM - "We immediately flew in a team of network guys and programmers to resolve this and to assess our network." - I guess the plane must still be circling. Hopefully it can land soon!

TheSenator 09-30-2008 09:13 PM

Sucks to see a great company go down hill.

venus 11-18-2008 10:51 PM

so what happened to candidcam, anyone know?
I removed their links months ago and still getting bills from them, but still no answer to my emails, icq's and I even sent them a fax
