About 3 years ago, a Pilot from Mexicana was doing the Mexico City to LA run. He is a Retired US Airforce Pilot and still teaches in Cali, but works full time for the airline. Anyway he said that on that run at about 10pm over the desert in mexico the airplane was approaced by lights apparently scanned and then they flew off. He said they( the pilot and co ) think it was scanned because all the digital instruments flickerd in a wave across the cockpit and then went back to normal.
