Anyone from PDGHosting?

I run a few small feeder sites for tgps and blogs and what not on PDGhosting out of Canada and looks like they are all down due to a Turkish hacker. Anyone have any word from them on when it will be back up? I would love to hear from PDGHosting

Thanks
Jane

Not the same server ..

We are working on fixing the problem .. Turks came in thru an unprotected script, then manage to replace the index pages across the server ( like if they had root ) including the backup drive.
HTML pages can be re-uploaded and your site will be back. PHP is still causing problems.

We are seriously considering putting in a new scsi drive that already has a fresh OS.
Data, aside from the index pages , is all good to be copied back.

If some want more info or want to know why : zone-h dot org.

Sites are hacked .. server is up for all using html... All PHP index is showing hacked page, even after being replaced.

We are putting a new scsi disk in with a fresh os at 8:00 . Sites will be restored from backup drive. ET Completioon: Noon.

As for servers not affected, why do you want that ???? Doesn't sound good....

oh you think I'm hacking my own sites now ? I was thinking the guy probably has dedicated hosting and was thought about going dedicated myself.
another thought: if this goes on more than a day and you don't know when you can fix it, maybe you can arrange something temporarily on that server for all the less fortunate ones

He is on another virtual box.

I am at the DC. I just swapped the main drive for a new scsi with a fresh OS install. At the moment, Cpanel is loading. After, firewall install, recompile PHP/Apache with proper librairies. Then restore sites from the backup drive. I also have the original server drive with all the data.

Once all this is done, I will be offering a credit for the downtime, tough I can tell you that an old script was the main entrance to the server.

For those who want to go on another box, hit me up. I can do that. Just upload your sites, change DNS depending of which box ... We have actually 4 boxes where space/bandwith is available.

Drives have just been switched. So nothing is on them yet aside from OS and partially Cpanel... ( loading now )

tranza 07-24-2008 09:57 AM

Very interesting!

directfiesta 07-24-2008 11:31 AM

Server is Up ( http://72.55.143.196 ) but Cpanel has a bug ( login gives a blank page ), even after force reinstall, force perl. A ticket to Cpanel has been submitted.

This must be resolved before sites are restored.

I :liebe028: turks .....

... not :disgust

PS: Up for the past 36 hours ....

Pierre hope you had a chance for a half hour nap at least, times like this trying to fix problems is tough on the brain and even worse with no sleep for two days

Then why dont you switch to another hosting?

beta-tester 07-25-2008 06:58 AM

my sites that are there seem unaffected, however I once got openDNS error like for barefootfemale's site:

Hmm, www.barefootfemale.com isn't loading right now.

The computers that run www.barefootfemale.com are having some trouble. Usually this is just a temporary problem, so you might want to try again in a few minutes.

Is this normal, or what's the deaL?

beta-tester 07-25-2008 06:59 AM

Pierre, which servers are affected (ips)? So I can check whether some of my sites are on them!

Thanks.

Server is re-installed, but the feature of restoring backups is bugged. Cpanel has been on it for the past day ....

What can be done is I can create your account. Then you can create your addons and reupload the content.

I do have the data in backup ... so I could also move it if needed.

As info, I was targeted by those hackers on many other boxes, so a lot of effort was diverted to protect those boxes. For those who know the defacers site, you can see some other of my boxes listed for defacement ob 7/24 ... as well as 2 dedicated boxes.
