hm I don't know, but I think that it is recommended to eat lots of small means.

They say 5 small ones is better than 3 bigger ones so I'd think that eating just one big meal per day isn't really healthy.... but it is surely convenient :)

Would vary, if you do nothing all day one large meal may be adequate for you. Personally i have 6 meals per day but i do over 2 hours of exercise every day so i need to eat a lot.

Yes it is better for you to eat a lot of small meals through out the day, but I'm a small person and I can't eat that much. I would love to be able to, I love food!

It's fine according to my doctor, but he said it must be breakfast, eat what you want and what your body needs, but it must be the first meal of the day.

if the theory is right you gain more fat if you eat just once cause the body burns slower when he notices that there are times he doesn't get anything - so he saves for those times

plus the actual digesting process needs energy as well and therefore more little meals burn more energy.

and then there are theories that claim the exact opposite...

i personally believe it will lead to heart disease

when your body doesnt eat regularly..it will most likely store food as fat

and then get into a habit of using that fat when it needs it etc

it will put strain on your heart

eating once a day is stupid...sorry but its true

Sorry but that is absolute bullshit. If you don't eat regulary, you just will be very weak and have no energy, plus your stomach will get smaller, you know the pictures of them africans where their ribs are sticking out? That's all that will happen, it is best to eat breakfast (essential), some fruit throughout the day an then a meal in the evening if you want to eat the minimum on a regular time scale.

I wasn't attacking you, sorry if you felt that way. Sport was one of my options at college and it was mostly physiotherapy and nutrition, i'm not claiming to be an expert but i do know my fair share in this area.

Eating only once a day won't be healthy in the long term.

You will gradually develop peptic ulcer. The stomach needs something to digest at least every four hours. Otherwise, the gastric acid inside will create inflammation over time.

So better eat 3 times a day (not necessarily heavy).

Do what feels natural in terms of when you eat, not what you eat.

Eating whatever you want only works if you lead a very active lifestyle and only eat natural, unprocessed foods without added sugar and such. The human body, unfortunately, is not well-suited for sedentary lifestyles and the average modern diet.
