Every post in this thread has some truth to it. As a female, it's important to be well groomed and to do everything you can (and can afford) to look your best. But it's equally important to have ambition and dedication in your career, and do everything you can to improve your mind/self other ways as well. My best friend from college and I came up with a theory of having the "total package" when we were in school. The key is to balance both priorities, because when one becomes more important than the other, you lose out. And I'm not just talking about doing all of this to become more appealing to men, this has always been something we've talked about regarding success in our careers..and really just life in general.

I have to disagree with that. Most chicks I know spend a shitload of time before they even step out of the door. They spend one to two hours a day on average just working on their looks. I can't think of any man that does the same.

I know guys who go gym 5 days a week, spend hour/s there just to look how they think they should.

But you're right this society only values girls who look good, and if you're that girl than you'll likely have a good life. If you're not that girl, well it's a lot tougher. Still, even an unattractive girl has it easier in some respect than unattractive guy (i.e. can still get laid, get a decent guy whenever they want), and vice versa (less expectation on men to look perfect in every day life).

On the flipside this society only really values men who are XYZ and everything in between, with the biggest one being wealth. If you're not that than you're likely another cock standing at the back of the club, or worse yet maybe you're playing WoW on a friday night.

The reason I ask is because of how a high-maintenance girl looks in the morning. She may look great while you're banging her, but you always have to be prepared for what she may look like in the morning. At least with a naturally decent looking girl, you aren't in for any surprises when you catch her without her face painted.

The more 'perfect' a chick appears on the outside the less imperfect they are on the inside usually - either dumb as fuck or boring as hell or so annoying you'd rather kill yourself than spend another 5 minutes with her.

You don't have to be skinny, have DD's, wear a ton of makeup or have perfect nails to be hot. A friendly smile, a decent body, and the air of confidence can defintely make a girl more approachable and fun to be with that makes up for those points.

True story:

My oldest sister has always prided herself on her looks. She was always the pretty one in the family, but it always took a lot of effort to get that way. And even though she is a very kind, giving and loving person, she seems to feel that her looks are all that she has to offer. And yes, she is very pretty, but even I have to admit that she looks much better with her make-up on.

When she got married, she got up every morning a couple of hours before her husband for OVER TWO YEARS so that she would be all perfect looking for him before he woke up. No joke... she would not even let her own husband see her without her face painted on and her hair done for over two years! I SO wish I could have been there to see his reaction on the day when he finally got to see her in her natural state. The difference is truly night and day.

Still to this day, after 18 years of marriage, she's so high maintenance that she won't even run to the corner store for milk or drop her kids off at school unless she's perfectly done up first. Her boys are always late to school because of her. She's also the type of person who will never go swimming or ride on the back of a motorcycle or in a convertible because it would mess up her hair or face.

I love my sister, but in all honestly... I absolutely can't stand chicks like that!
