You are given the opportunity to move anywhere in the USA.

Where would you move and why?
City/State... what are the perks of being there for you, your family etc.

RuthB 07-21-2008 03:46 PM

hmm.. OC, California .. as to why, well gee .. see sig :upsidedow

Places I'd live:

Chicago
NYC
San Diego
Miami
Boulder, Colorado
Northampton, Mass
Phoenix/Tempe/Scottsdale, AZ

That's all I can think of for now, but I'm sure there are a few other places I'd live.

Karupted Charles 07-21-2008 04:04 PM

Phoenix/Tempe/Scottsdale, AZ is my number one choice.
Slower pace of living
Great people
Hot Girls
Close to Calli and Vegas.

I was thinking about buying a "weekend" house/apartment in the US, but still waiting until the prices drop a little more. Should be another 20%, when analysts are right. The only problem is, I can't find many safe locations. Europe's safe standards are just too high, so I will probably visit some locations in US first. But now I would say Manhattan, NY.

cykoe6 07-21-2008 04:07 PM

Brooklyn, NY

CaveCreek_Russell 07-21-2008 04:09 PM

I'd move back to the north west, Seattle or Portland.

silvercash amber 07-21-2008 04:11 PM

san diego

Blazed 07-21-2008 04:14 PM

Portland / Oregon ... I miss downtown , it was inspirational. And when you're sick of the place I would just go to Devils Churn ... i think thats what it was called. I like the people and there was always some sheeeeit to get into ....

Chris 07-21-2008 05:23 PM

id love to live in phx

spacedog 07-21-2008 05:31 PM

I'm looking into moving.. I want to live somewhere in the heartland.. Lots of open land and remote.. I want to be somewhere quiet & peaceful.. somewhere I can grow alot of vegetables.. Have a nice big feild I can shoot in.. some woods on my property that I can hunt in.. perhaps a private lake also for some fishing.. Figure maybe have a couple horses too..

I want to relax and enjoy my life in peace and do away with the bullshit that comes with having so many people nearby.. I'm tired of traffic and all the runaround daily bullshit.

tony286 07-21-2008 05:33 PM

california la because of work or maybe san francisco. Much closer than I am now and much cooler weather.

Studio City is still the valley

DateDoc 07-21-2008 05:41 PM

Jackson, WY or Carmel, CA for me.

Sosa 07-21-2008 06:09 PM

I haven't visited to many places but I would love to live in a highrise condo in in downtown Chicago near the river. However, I would need somewhere else for the winter.

mynameisjim 07-21-2008 06:13 PM

Always loved Santa Monica for some reason.

Monique Niccole 07-21-2008 06:13 PM

I keep hemming and hawing about moving back to Miami. I miss the atmosphere, the culture, etc. of living in a really vibrant multicultural city.

fris 07-21-2008 06:15 PM

I am moving from Scottsdale to Detroit, want to trade houses :-)

96ukssob 07-21-2008 07:13 PM

Hands down Santa Monica California... specifically north of the 3rd street promenade and west of 6th street.

if not there, then probably the area were Marina del Rey and Venice beach meet up, by the canals or the OC somewhere by the beach.

I lived there for almost 4 years and loved it and miss it a lot. Always something to do and always stuff going on, but I did miss my family and friends out here a lot so its a hard choice to try and move back

d-null 07-21-2008 07:17 PM

I liked OC the best of places I've lived.

You must be confused nobody moves to Detroit only out of it. I would love to switch with you but I can't leave what I have going here.

RyuLion 07-21-2008 07:31 PM

If I needed to move to the USA it would be Florida but I really prefer not living in the USA.

I grew up in carmel, your not missing much...Yeah it beautiful and all that, but Unless your 65 and love golf, better off in SF for Norcal. San Clemente would be my pick for Southern California, Far enough away from LA and close enough to San Diego, also take the 73 into Newport if you want to see people. Great Surf...

Z 07-21-2008 08:15 PM

Central/South Florida
South Texas
Georgia...but in the boonies, no more Atlanta B.S.
NYC for the summer
I'd consider the Scottsdale/Phoenix/Tempe area because of the heat, the women and my friends there...but FUCK it's SO dry!

But as others have said...I'd prefer not to live in the US. Panama ROCKS!

Birdman33 07-21-2008 08:21 PM

I would visit everywhere but nothing beats living in LA. Close to vegas , the beaches , the mountians , hottest women , great nightlife , best weather. Got it all over here. New york comes pretty close just the weather sucks balls.

Grapesoda 07-21-2008 09:15 PM

I'm thinking Minnesota, maybe upstate NY... Vermont, Colorado or somewhere else with seasons, skies and big ass mountains. this might be a BIG shock to the average GFY'er however they have great pussy pretty much every where... and I happen to like white girls and mountain roads. -bmb

CaptainHowdy 07-21-2008 09:17 PM

New Haven, Connecticut ...

... just kidding, of course.

I knew someone would come along and say that. I lived in Miami for 7 years. There are plenty of other cultures besides the obvious "Cuban". You just have to look for them.

Some people like Miami, some don't.

After Shock Media 07-21-2008 09:24 PM

A small ass town about an hour from where I am. Population under a few thousand. Lots of land, forrests, rivers, creeks, wildlife, and so much more. Just love ability to be surrounded by nature and relax.
