So we've still been thinking about moving to AZ...

Beautiful Arizona

Just moved to Arizona! Now this is a state that knows how to live!! Beautiful sunny days and warm balmy evenings.

What a place!

It is beautiful. I've finally found my home. I love it here.

June 14th
Really heating up. Got to 100 today. Not a problem. Live in an air-conditioned home, drive an air-conditioned car. What a pleasure to see the sun everyday like this. I'm turning into a sun worshipper.

June 30th
Had the backyard landscaped with western plants today. Lots of cactus and rocks. What a breeze to maintain. No more mowing lawn for me.

Another scorcher today, but I love it here.

July 10th
The temperature hasn't been below 100 all week. How do people get used to this kind of heat? At least, it's kind of windy though. But getting used to the heat is taking longer than I expected.

July 15th
Fell asleep by the community pool (Got 3rd degree burns over 60% of my body). Missed 3 days of work. What a dumb thing to do. I learned my lesson though. Got to respect the ol' sun in a climate like this.

July 20th
I missed Lomita (my cat) sneaking into the car when I left this morning. By the time I got to the hot car at noon, Lomita had died and swollen up to the size of a shopping bag, then popped like a water balloon. The car now smells like Kibbles and shits. I learned my lesson though. No more pets in this heat. Good ol' Mr. Sun strikes again.

July 25th
The wind sucks.
It feels like a giant freaking blow dryer!!

And it's hot as hell. The home air-conditioner is on the fritz and the AC repairman charged $500 just to drive by and tell me he needed to order parts.

July 30th
Been sleeping outside on the patio for 3 nights now. $350,000 house and I can't even go inside. Lomita is the lucky one.

Why did I ever come here?

Aug. 4th
It's 115 degrees. Finally got the air-conditioner fixed today. It cost $1,500 and gets the temperature down to 85. I hate this stupid state.

Aug. 8th
If another wise ass cracks, 'Hot enough for you today?' I'm going to strangle him. Damn heat.

By the time I get to work, the radiator is boiling over, my clothes are soaking wet, and I smell like baked cat!!

Aug. 9th
Tried to run some errands after work. Wore shorts, and when I sat on the seats in the car, I thought my ass was on fire. My skin melted to the seat. I lost 2 layers of flesh and all the hair on the back of my legs and ass. Now my car smells like burnt hair, fried ass, and baked cat.

Aug 10th
The weather report might as well be a damn recording. Hot and sunny. Hot and sunny. Hot and sunny. It's been too hot to do shit for 2 damn months and the weatherman says it might really warm up next week. Doesn't it ever rain in this damn desert? Water rationing will be next, so my $2,300 worth of cactus will just dry up and blow over. Even the cactus can't live in this damn heat.

Aug. 14th
Welcome to HELL! Temperature got to 122 today. Cactus are dead. Forgot to crack the window and blew the damn windshield out of the car. The installer came to fix it and said, "Hot enough for you today?" My sister had to spend $1,500 to bail me out of jail. Arizona.

What kind of a sick demented idiot would want to live here??

Will write later to let you know how the trial goes?

Evil E 07-20-2008 04:04 PM

LOL is that for real? Like he says you need to crack the windows open... and it gets around 115-120 in the summer.

Kevin Marx 07-20-2008 04:44 PM

That's too damn funny.. every single one of those hits too close to home.

When its January, it's easy to laugh at that stuff... When it's July and August.. it just gets painful

amacontent 07-20-2008 04:54 PM

You cant leave its a long drive to The Staples Center from AZ

WiredGuy 07-20-2008 04:57 PM

"Yeah, but its a DRY HEAT!"

Jim_Gunn 07-20-2008 05:04 PM

I hope that is a made up story for the sake of Lomita the cat.

Deej 07-20-2008 05:15 PM

Funny :thumbsup

Defiance Inc 07-20-2008 06:16 PM

June/July are the hottest months, End of July and August blow cause the monsoons make it humid :( Bonus is women wear less clothes! :thumbsup
Its a love it or hate it state. :winkwink:

xNetworx 07-20-2008 06:23 PM

Each year I hate the heat more and more

Bama 07-20-2008 06:56 PM

You could live here in Washington - summer only lasts 5-6 weeks. This is the 10 day forecast.

Munki's tend to not thrive well in rainy climates... or areas with astonishly high suicide rates... lol

Maybe winters in phx, summers in wash...

Bama 07-20-2008 07:07 PM

I head to Bama in 2 weeks for a week followed by another week down in Florida for the show. I think in all that heat/humidity I might melt!

Usually that's my line, but can't really say that right now as the humidity has spiked with the monsoons.

fris 07-20-2008 07:28 PM

i cant wait until i go back to phoenix, love it there

Spunky 07-20-2008 07:46 PM

I wouldn't be able to survive.I'd be a raisin in no time

C-Luv 07-20-2008 08:49 PM

That is a good story and all of that is so true, I live in AZ!

Kellie 07-20-2008 09:00 PM

Born and raised in AZ ;) And yes it does get that hot in the summer, but you get used to it. if you have AC it's all good, just try to avoid the outdoors as much a possible.

Dez 07-20-2008 09:03 PM

Nothing beats OC weather Munki, AZ=Havasu for me.

SBJ 07-20-2008 09:13 PM

haha that was so funny and true! I had my AC go out but luckily it was in April before it got too hot and yes it did take 2 or 3 trips for the guy before he fixed the AC

tony286 07-20-2008 09:26 PM

is it a more bearable hot than florida hot? Just got back from fl it was awful.

in FL it doesn't get as hot but is so humid that you sweat a lot.. here you don't sweat but the sun is more dangerous because you don't sweat and you don't know it's so hot till your sun burnt or dehydrated

LeRoy 07-20-2008 09:53 PM

That is some funny shit :)

My family lives out there. I do like the drunk tube thing... from what I can remember :)

GrouchyAdmin 07-20-2008 09:58 PM

Sounds like my first three months in Costa Rica, only, replace "heat" with "rain". I miss that place. :(

I've got family that lives in AZ, and family that lives in NV. I prefer mountains and trees. Don't move into Phoenix, it's a mess.

PLATINUMPORN 07-20-2008 10:19 PM

Just move next door to NM. We have all 4 seasons and it does not get near as hot as it does in AZ.

Rochard 07-20-2008 10:42 PM

Fuck Phoenix.

I loved working for Steve Lightspeed but never again will I live in such an extreme climate. Don't give me this shit "but it's a dry heat". Bull fucking shit. When it's 110 degrees outside, it's 110 degrees out side. Period.

I love where I live.... It's July 20t today and it felt like a nice spring day here. Also, while it never gets cold enough to snow here, I like it in the winter when it's a bit "chilly" outside. Puts some color in my cheeks during my early morning runs.

Florida is amazing. The weather there has a mind of its own. One minute clear blue skies and the next its lashing down with rain and you're struggling to see out the car window with the wipers on full whack! Then of course, 10 mins later, clear blue skies again. I love Florida so much.

Arizona could be a problem tho, that I'm afraid is just a little too hot. I'd stay indoors most of the time so long as the AC was ok. :)
