Google black hole

Anyone here understanding the 'workings' or logic of Google -- or have any idea why my site totally evaporated from their listings today?

For months and months my site was coming up on at least page two or three of Google's listings, when someone did a search for 'naked men.' Then, last week, I actually cracked page 1 and had a shit load of traffic flowing through.

Then, tonight, when I checked, my site is NOWHERE to be found -- I clicked back about 20 pages in the search results, but finally gave up. Nada.

None of my links have changed, none of the text on my opening page has changed, the title hasn't changed -- and I'm crosslinked (for relevancy) all over the fucking net.

Thought? Ideas? Spare change? :xomunch

Well, there ya go: You should have changed your links, the opening page text, and the title. And get those cross-links eliminated! :thumbsup

If googles algorithm decided you were "crosslinking" solely to gain better ranking in the SE, they will penalize you for that.

If you were egregriously abusing the system, and it was brought to a humans attention, they will blackhole you. Good luck getting your site listed again.

Not saying you are, but that's the price google spammers pay - in fact, here's a good example to all webmasters.. You find a site that's using obvious google-spamming techniques to get top rankings in a keyword you like, simply fire off an email to google.. If they agree he's gone, most likely forever.

Cheers,
Backov

We weren't. We've never had the time or energy or patience to doctor pages for search engines, etc. Simply put, we had good crosslinking because people like our site and list it on their site.

Thanks. Does being blacklisted mean the site wouldn't appear anywhere on Google? Meaning, when I run a search for our site name it comes right up on their page -- so we're still in the system.

Where do we write to actually connect with a human being at Google? Is there a good email address to use. I can't find shit on their site.

Thanks Backov

Same with me. In fact, if I typed in my domain name (with TLD) into Google's search and then look at the cached copy that comes up, it is OLD. VERY OLD. This seems to indicate that my site was removed completely.

Had you done any sort of tweaking or changes on your front page.

And who in the fuck do you contact at Google, to ask about stuff like this? Not that they'd give a rat's ass, but worth a try.
