For anyone who is in favor of popup blockers or similar programs...

Since cashquest is not keeping their popup blocker, its pretty much a mute point to discuss it any longer...BUT for the sake of perhaps enlightning the ignorant and considering the "big picture", I'll say this:

It should be pretty clear to anyone with even a tad bit of internet business knowledge that the person who would be pulling out his credit card to purchase a pop up blocker program IS exactly the person that you want seeing your pop up ads, and yet another reason why anyone who is for these kind of programs will not only hurt themselves in the long run, but also the internet as we know it.

Think for a second what would happen if a product came out that would block TV ads completely so you could watch your favorite programs witout all those 'annoying' commercials...Viewing TV would be so much easier, right? Yeah, untill CBS, NBC, ABC, and every other network becomes the next PBS...The addage 'nothing is free' applies here.

Its quite a simple formula really...You stop popups today, you stop banner ads tomorow, and you stop the life blood of the internet. Webmasters, more than any other people should understand that. Its a shame some of you are still ignorant to such simple business principles.

And I if you make a popup blocker program popular enough to affect the future of the internet, well you will be to rich to care by then

btw i use POW to block popups, its small and effective.

I disagree.

There is a ton of surfers that just won't pull out a credit card for a paysite for whatever reason, mostly being that they know how to get free porn.

Things like the pop up blocker tweak these peoples intrest. It's one of the reasons I do so good with the penis enlargement sponsors. It is something that appeals to the surfer in a much differnt way.

Secondly, the pop ups are gonna be gradualty stopped anyway as big guys like earthlink and the major firewall makers implement it into their software.

Cashquest's program at 40 bucks a pop would put no dent whatsoever in the amount of people using this type software.

Thats why I dont understand such knee jerk reactions to something so insignificant.

Quite frankly I don't see the end of popups any time soon. In the same manner that pop ups originated, someone will find a way around this so called killer software.

By that same token, taking away pops is not a good thing. There are many GOOD and useful pops that have nothing to do with exit consoles. Disabling this code can and will cause problems.

Then there is the fact that it is highly unlikely that selling pop killers would ever amount to the net that losing potential sales could.

i use a popup blocker for annoying mainstream ads and CJ's

I just took most of my pop ups off. There has been software out for some time now that blocks banners... I have very few banners
