Whats the best forum script nowadays?

I used to use phpBB a long time ago.

VBulletin. It works better than aging, buggy open source, go fig.

I always preferred vBulletin.

How bout a free one? I might come down to vBulletin but if I can get a good free one Ill prolly go with that..

You can get a good free one but you will move to Vbulletin sooner or later. Save yourself the headache of moving and just buy Vbulletin.

I've tried phpbb but I really like http://www.mybboard.net/ more. It does look pretty much the same as phpbb but the plugins are so easy to install.

As I remember, VBulletin is free if you don't mind their copyright info.

Last time I checked, I seem to remember a clean copy is less than $200.

depends whos doing the coding. phpbb is pretty easy.

anyone know the best forum that can integrate seamlessly into my current member base? vbulletin seems like a headache as far as that goes.

installing mods to phpbb is really headache.

You should try keeping up with the hourly security patches.

if you dont want to pay for it, go with SMF(simplemachinesforum)
