Tattoos Are Stupid

Hey I dont wanna offend everyone with tattoos here but like I just dont get this at all. How many people do I know with tattoos they regretted having done and how many models do I know who've ruined their careers with tattoos.

Why stamp yourself with something to let people make judgements about you.

Like I said, I dont want to cause offence but for many people if they see someone with a tattoo, their first thought is "low class". My girlfriend has a tattoo and i really wish feel for her because she hates it.

For me though if someone makes a judgement like that based on a tattoo, its not because of the tattoo itself but because the kind of person with a tattoo was never told by their parents not to get it in the first place or otherwise educated that if you get one, you might later regret it and your stuck with it for life.

Why do models keep doing this? Its so fucking stupid.

IllTestYourGirls 07-13-2008 03:46 PM

sorry but I find it funny that you are questioning why porn models make bad decisions. Not all are smart about modeling either. Thats just life.

CunningStunt 07-13-2008 03:47 PM

Agreed. But it's up to them.

A girl is getting fucked for money and you're worried about people making judgements about her based on a tattoo? :Oh crap

But ya, I see what you're saying. I find they generally look a little trashy on girls too, it's really just a fad that has become more mainstream lately. But if someone wants them, then all the power too them. It's not our body's so our opinions don't matter.

GrouchyAdmin 07-13-2008 03:56 PM

..and here I figured it was ok to frown a bit due to the meth and track marks..

Violetta 07-13-2008 03:58 PM

I dont like tattoos either! I like clean skin!

True, tattoos make an easy target for people to judge. But how you dress, what you drive, and how you style your hair, etc, let people make judgments about you as well, it's not just tattoos.

BT 07-13-2008 03:59 PM

tats on chicks rock. I know a girl who has a heart on her shaven pussy and when she spreads her legs its a broken heart.

papill0n 07-13-2008 03:59 PM

People are going to make judgements based on anything. If you like tattoos then fuck what anyone thinks.

I love tats on girls.

But aside from that what isn't stupid these days?

Obviously I know lot of girls with tattoos and I'd say that most, if not all of them couldn't care less what other people think of them or what judgements you might come to.

The girls on PunkGrl are amateur models and on the whole very confident people who are happy with who they are. Maybe if they were pro models I can see why they might think twice about getting work done especially if they were working in the "mainstream" world but in our little alt world the more the better :thumbsup

Twisted Dave 07-13-2008 04:09 PM

Tattoo'd girls are freakin' hot ... :) I don't mean the average tramp stamp ... I mean girls who have cool hot tattoo's and have the 'alternative' look :)

Juicy D. Links 07-13-2008 04:50 PM

i get "looks" left n right , tbh i learned not to give a shit about it or anything

as long as i am happy with it

let me see if I'm picking up what you're laying down here: if you don't agree with it, it's stupid. did I get the right message? -bmb

I'm not a big fan of tattoos either, especially on women, but I don't like to sit in judgement either.

However, there are instances where it's pretty hard not to judge.

For example, this guy...

... really, who among us doesn't think this guy is a total douche? :D

shermo 07-13-2008 05:15 PM

My tattoos are for myself, and not to make a fashion statement. I have 2 and 1 was a coverup...But both are hidden with a shirt. The only times they are seen is if I have my shirt off.

As far as women with tattoos, they look sexy. Not the avg tramp stamp, but actual artwork on a woman brings out her personality.

In my opinion, if a person passes judgment based on something that a large amount of the population has, than that person's opinion isn't worth caring about. Judge on actions, not appearances.

I think I have to go with this. I am sure some of these girls do real well and make a true career out of this but I bet the vast majority of them get into this because they do not make great decisions in the first place.

Gnus 07-13-2008 05:38 PM

I got my tattoo 8 years ago and I don't regret it. I think when a person gets a tattoo they need to remember it's for life unless you wanna pay good money to have one removed. Another one is a tattoo at least I think is a work of art and that's how I decided to have mine done. Location is another important factor for instance I had mine put on my right shoulder. I don't make decision based on whether person has a tattoo or not. This day and age I don't think it's really matters to tell ya the truth. Most people I know have a tattoo of some sort somewhere.

Here my tat

http://www.avsid.com/tattoo.jpg

It's been 8 years since it's been done. So it has faded I need to go and have it touched up

I don't mind the little ones but some huge assed sleeve doesn't turn me on

BlackCrayon 07-13-2008 06:03 PM

Tattoos can be very handy, like when you need to identify a mangled corpse or spotting criminals on the run.

tranza 07-14-2008 08:38 AM

Jens Van Assterdam 07-14-2008 08:43 AM

Iam getting one on my butt near soon. Iam excited.

pornguy 07-14-2008 08:44 AM

I dont like them either, but I dont piss and moan about them.

96ukssob 07-14-2008 09:08 AM

i think some people make dumb decisions and will probably regret it later in life (i.e. the guy with the tat under his arms).

i have a tat on my arm, right above where the sleeve goes. hardly anyone knows about it because i dont try and show it off, but when i look at it, im glad i got it. although, i was going to get "BOSS" tattooed on my back in old english letters, but decided to get wasted and skip the appointment... a decision im glad i made now :1orglaugh

Seriously- how many times on America's Most Wanted do they show pics of all the tatts with the mug shot? Almost every damn one.

You can change your hair color, grow a beard, lose some weight... but that skull with the snake wrapped dagger stuck through it that you've got plastered over your entire upper arm, ain't going away. :1orglaugh

I am not offended at all. They are not for all to have. I am never sick of mine..plus I can't see it unless you take a pic or something. I drew my tat and it is very special to me! I was a very ugly girl growing up and it was not until I was about 17 that I even started to look like a woman. All my friends said that I had turned into a butterfly from an ugly worm. So I drew my tat and wanted to keep it. I have moved over 60 timees in my life and most of my drawings I end up giving away or they end up lost..so this was one I wanted to keep. It reminds me that I am not that ugly little girl any more and I can be pretty. Not saying that I am a hottie but I am easy on the eyes..it makes me feel good.

When I first got into this business and was looking for tattooed models, they were extremely hard to find...now it's hard to find one that doesn't have one...
Poolside at Xbiz, there were more tats than ever before...and some of them looked pretty damn good

media 07-14-2008 10:54 AM

Ive got alot of work, and honestly those who judge me before they get a chance to talk to me are not someone I'd want to do business with to begin with..

I've got alot of meaning to each of my tattoos, and they will follow me to my death bed to remind me of life, the good, and the bad parts of it.

Exactly, there are so many ways to express one's individuality.... and you can start with a blank canvas each time. So why do people have to do it through a tattoo that brands that person for life. My girlfriend has a tattoo of a children's storey book character and she's outgrown that but she's stuck with it and everytime i see it i just feel sorry for her.

And im not saying i like it that people make judgements either, but the fact is they do make judgements. As i said before, the biggest one people make is that the person who has the tattoo is stupid for lack of forward thinking and/or being one of the crowd to get it done in the first place.

Celebrities like David Beckham, Johnny Depp etc etc dont escape this kind of judgement making... being a rich ass celebrity doesnt make you immune either. Many people in their industry will look down upon them for having tattoos and being "that kind of person". Now maybe they couldnt care less about that but ultimately they may regret the tattoos and its definitely not going to help them in their careers.

Don't get me wrong though, some well thought out tattoos look good especially on men but its much less workable on women.... it doesnt look so good.

Shroom 07-14-2008 11:19 AM

Motha Fucka Dont Get Me Started! I Will Flip The Fuck Out And Fuck You Up! We Love Tats Because We Love Them. Thats All You Sucka Ass Ink Haters Need To Know.

Im Not Even Gonna Grace You With The Awesomeness Of My Tattoos.

JamesK 07-14-2008 06:47 PM

I always wanted a tattoo. I like the idea of getting something that means a lot of you tattood on your body.

I might get it done in a few years if I still feel the same about the concept. Don't want to make any rushed decisions when it's about permanent ink on my body :)

People are going to make judgments regardless... its just the focus that changes... I kind of like the Japanese full body tattoos, however, that does not mean I would get one nor would I ever say they are low class. I don't have a tattoo myself.

I'm sleeved, been sleeved for a long time. don't regret it one bit. never has hurt my career in any way. here's the thing: you're transferring your thoughts on to other people, and then believing that's what they really think. that's called megalomania, that's a mental illness of some sort. you might wanna get that looked at. -bmb
